Is it possible to get an X11 set up for MorphOs (or is there on already
in the works?) similiar to Open Office for Mac. This would be a huge
advantage for our next release. Isn't AOS4.x using somthing like this
    for their Abiword?

    Just noticed

There are three bounties open one X11 Server and two wrappers one for X11 and one for GTK.
All are open but when the funds rise maybe there will be a Coder that take the bounty.

Considering you noticed there already was another thread on this matter I suggest people read that thread (my opinion on the matter should be fairly obvious then) instead of just rehashing everything in this one...

There are several old X11 servers for Amiga and at least some of them still work on MorphOS. X-server is for display/input only, so you'd still need to compile the actual programs for local computer or run them from remote computer. I just tried to run OpenOffice on remote computer and controlled/viewed it on MorphOS screen with Xami. Worked fine although bit slowly.

I used to use X-server on A1200 about 10 years ago. I ran Netscape from our school's computers remotely (AmiWM gave it Amiga look too ;). There also were ported apps like Gimp for Amiga too, so you could use them locally without any remote connections. Check old Geek Gadgets for more... there was Amiga port of twm window manager etc to get some control to windows etc.

But in the end it wasn't that fun for long. Purely native apps are much more pleasant.

xami is nice prog but it can't connect to machines with new Xorg.
I use NxServer very often to connect to my linux server.

    +1

Would prefer a native cool office suite for MorphOS.

Although it seems a bit of fun to try all that X stuff.

MorphOS should come first but after all for some apps missing, Linux is always installed and I think there is OpenOffice available at least @ OpenSUSE? Right? So it is just a click in that multi boot menu....
