Since I take off in a few days for the Persian Gulf, I just wanted to say bye to all of you. I leave on the 30th and should be home about December 18th. I'll have my iBook with me and hope I can find a hot spot here and there to drop in.

Persian Golf? Shame you can't bring your peg with you; I guess you could use some "cool computing" over there :-P

Try to return in one piece!

Acill, stay safe! Maybe MOS 1.5 will be out for your return!

PS: Some Arabs prefer the term "Arabian Gulf" to "Persian Gulf." Just a word to the wise. You should be okay referring to it as the Persian Gulf with the Persians (Iranians). ;-)

PPS: Hmm... there was also an Amiga game called Persian Gulf Inferno. Try to stay out of any of those! ;-)

PPPS: It was a rather hard game.

If anyone lives near Amsterdam I will be at the airport for a few hours on the 1st of October!!! I'll be fine. Its only about 45 days in the gulf on a ship, then its the fun return trip home. I think I get to go to OZ and a few other nice places.

Well I am off! I will see you all in a few months unless I find a place to get on the net while in port.

Have a safe trip! Here's hoping they let you talk to the wife and kid pretty often so 45 days will fly by!

Still here sort of. I am using a hot spot on my Macintosh while I am in the airport waiting for my flight to leave for Amsterdam.

I didnt work much with ELF. Its an awsome system and worked real well though. Its more used for the big Trident missile subs then then destroyers and cruisers I serve on. Its a shame to see it go, but like the article mentions, its out of date and better solutions are now in place.
