Everyone outside of the US must think we are all Islamophobic and wouldn't be interested in a neat turn of phrase in Arabic.
But I have Palestinian and Afghani friends (come to think of it, a few years ago I used to work for a Jewish couple that were friends with one of the Afghanis I know).

People need to understand the complexities introduced by past history before they start judging groups of people.

My chemistry professor in the late nineties was an Iranian and was a kind man with a sharp intellect.

Islam may be the latest of the three major religions to develop, but the cultures behind it are incredibly venerable.
