Hi everyone, I wanted to propose to the admin of MorphZone to add a user forum for beginners. "Beginners forum"

That could be a place for me and everyone else that is in need of learning fundamentals in MorhOS as well as propose improvements for easier understanding for newbies.

Its something I believe would help a lot. but of course only if the skilled users help out and write in an "easy-to-understand" manner

BTW you may say I been onboard for a wile but actually I just came back with a new PPC since my previous one was stolen at a burgerly in April ;)

    Merry X-mas

Thanks Yasu. I am going to read the wordpress blogg now !!

A lot of things seems to have happened since I was hear earlier 2014.

One thing I noticed is that the wireless works directly from native Mac Mini now. (Awesome) However I noticed it does not run perfectly well (in my home at least) so I tested to attach my iPhone6 with the USB cable and phone internetsharing switch "on" and WOW that was like bringing the old Mac Mini with MorhpOS to 2015. And super easy to do.

Here is 3 questions of mine if anyone has a link / answer:

    1) I cant change the clock time. it is going on UK time and I need to move it to +1 hrs. the top bar flashes red when I try to change the clock.

    2) My usernames and passwords seems to always be forgotten in OWB, I like to get it to remember/part remember for more simple re- usage

    3) I like to place icons triggering URL links on my desktop and change the icons to my icon files.

    Thanks a lot

    /Tomas

    2 other matters I have:

    1) everytime I start up the MOS I get a message "RX Output"

+++ Error 6 in line 124: Unterminated comment
Command returned 10/6: This space intentionally left blank!

What does this mean and how can I get it to go away?
(I run MOS3.7 and latest Chrysalis)

    2) How do I turn of the startup chimes on the Mac Mini. I remember I managed to get it turned off on my old Mac Mini but cant remember how I did it. I only run MOS on this one. The old one I had dual OS.

    Thanks

I think this new forum is a good idea. I am a newcomer to MorphOS and occasionally I can have many silly questions. I don't know if I need to read all those blog sites yet because I can figure out how to use a MorphOS computer mostly by myself but sometimes I have specific questions and I enjoy getting the answers quick response on the forums. A dedicated forum will be most useful. :-) apologies for possibly asking what could be a FAQ, and also I should be sorry for posting very long sentence.

    @TomKeric :

i must correct this error in pack Chrysalis 2015:

"+++ Error 6 in line 124: Unterminated comment
Command returned 10/6: This space intentionally left blank!"

To correct it, just add a "'" at begin of the line 124...

    @In_Correct : I have open a non official FAQ on www.warmup-asso.org

    http://www.meta-morphos.org/faq.php

    I must updated too :-D

Here´s issues nr #6 and #7 from me:

#6 when starting OWB I get the error message "Net Stack Log"Tue Dec 23 12:23:31 2014 [err ]: : iface_config: SIOCAIFADDR: Object exists

(OWB and wireless workes fine though so no obvious problems experienced)

#7 if I ctrl+C outside OWB to copy this error message to the forum OWB shut down and cannot be restarted, I need to restart MOS to be able to restart OWB. Any clue why the ctrl+C gives me this outcome. ctrl+c inside OWB does not give this result

    issue 1-3 + 5 pending answer

#1 I cant change the clock time. it is going on UK time and I need to move it to +1 hrs. the top bar flashes red when I try to change the clock.

#2 My usernames and passwords seems to always be forgotten in OWB, I like to get it to remember/part remember for more simple re- usage

#3 I like to place icons triggering URL links on my desktop and change the icons to my icon files.

    #4 Solved

#5 How do I turn of the startup chimes on the Mac Mini. I remember I managed to get it turned off on my old Mac Mini but cant remember how I did it. I only run MOS on this one. The old one I had dual OS.

Thanks everyone if you anything about this please give me a hint/link

Well, you may have heard that WinUAE has got/will get CyberstormPPC emulation, too. Current state of WinUAE with PowerPC is rather like a proof of concet (slow and not too stable), but maybe in future (when a ppc JIT will be avalable) speed will reach levels where is actually provides something useful.

Yes, it was released 6 days ago, also including BlizzardPPC emulation.

I read it's rather fast (faster than Sam460 with certain tasks on recent hardware), except for FPU code, and also very stable.

    > when a ppc JIT will be avalable

WinUAE's PPC emulation (which is QEMU actually) *does* have JIT.
