I am looking for some information on how MorphOS works. I would like to know how it boots and what it does all the way to the desktop. What files does it use, read, and modify during startup? What is customizable and what should be left alone. How is the file system structured and what is the purpose of each of the folders. After boot, what is customizable at the command line and what is only customizable via GUI apps.

When I read manuals on Linux, I get an education on how the system boots, what files it uses, and what is going on under the hood. Is there anything like this for MorphOS?

I do like the system and it works great on my MacMini. I am a tech manual junkie. Looking for information. I like to get completely absorbed in an OS. I like to tinker, break, modify it so I can learn.

Any ideas on where I can find documentation? I am also looking for the programming guides. Where can i find these?

    Thanks!

MorphOS is designed to mimmick/enhance AmigaOS, so most of the documentation and books on AmigaOS might still be valid for MorphOS.

MorphOS specifics can be found in the library section of this site.
