    What needs to be done?

MorphOS will be released for the EFIKA when it is ready. When it is released we want to have things organized. We need MorphZone up and more operational again. We donated a $1000 via PayPal today to the site today.

    Wake up Dave!!!

It is time to get things moving again. What should we do? Please share your ideas in this thread. Thanks!

Well, a very raw but useful thing that resembles what you describe, and that may be used as a starting point is currently managed by me.

@hooligan: thank you. I can always count on you. You know you like to be counted on two, three, four...

@the doc: that is a very nice compilation of information. Depending on what we do with the CMS, I could easily see a module being made where that info could be stored, updated, and displayed with some sort of admin interface. I.E., if you can keep track of it, I can make a backside interface so the info only has to be plugged into a form.

Everyday I verify what's new around, and constantly update my information page.
Of course I can keep track of it even on MorphZone.

Yes please! Integrate the doctor's hard work somehow in MorphZone! Maybe as some kind of section, or at least, have a permanent link in the front page.

How about a YouTube service showing what morphos users do with their pegasoses and efikas?

    How about MorphTube? :)

    @MorphDelf:

I think it's an useless idea until MOS will be able to play flash videos (without tricky arexx-scripts).

I think that there's no need for Flash for uploading some video-files.
But nevertheless I doubt that there is that much interest in watching people typing some text...

When we get firewire drivers and an editing app of some sort, there will be lots of videos to see :-) Just remember what Targhan says: 'No illegal crap or pr0n!'

Actually though, many new camcorders can spit video out of a USB2 port as well, so even that would be a good step. Maybe the next Efika will do USB2, you never know..

We are living in exciting times for MorphOS!

Well. the videos could be videos from Breakpoint, Amiga shows where morphos is shown, users guides to how to install things onto MorphOS.

I think that a MorphTube would be both promoting and learning :)

I think the idea is good, but still I think they should be uploaded to youtube were it can have a broader scope... there's really no need to have them uploaded locally.

I'll check about what I can do to include the docs hard work, which is greatly appreciated, somewhere over the next day or two! Who knows, we may see something popup in the morning :-)

Targ, it's great to see you back here regularly again! I'm also glad for you that Genesi saw fit to do a cash infusion into MorphZone :-) Can't you live for like eight months on a thousand bucks in 'Bama ;-)? I'm kidding, but seriously, thanks for all the hard work on the site!

Genesi: Good to hear things are moving forward. I haven't had time/energy to follow much of this lately, been way too busy with real life.

I've sold my Peg for $ problems and now I haven't so much time to follow all the 3d here and on other Amiga boards but it seems things are moving... At least there's some noise around... :-)
I'm looking forward for new MOS hw to buy my new Amiga-like machine so I hope all those Genesi declarations around the web will not end (as usually in these years;-)) > nil:

Go FOR REAL this time, Genesi!

Good luck to all the involved MorphOS people, from the (core) developers to Targhan.
    Aloha.

I would prefer to see morphos video in the mainstream such as google video & youtube, instead of off on some site no one will look at.

    Just a quick update:

I've added a tentative sub-forum, that should be viewable by registered members only, called "Genesi-Announce." Log in to see more info. Who knows what kind of stuff Genesi will be placing there!!

That's very fine but... I've recently discovered this Czech Pegasos User Group software page? It blows my mind: Available in more than one language, database driven, with search engine, and functions to let members add entries. Right now, the visitor is welcomed with this impressive text: "Download MorphOS compatible software. Last update: 12.02.2007. Total: 863 programs, demos and games".

Not to be missed! Congratulations to the Czech Pegasos User Group for this amazing effort!
It's a shame that there's so many MorphOS resuorces out there being missed... What we need is a big, central, and really good links page.

    Speaking of "Links"..

I just finished doctoring up the latest batch of broken links on the site, and also made a quick code-change. Now, all links that are of the "Dead Links" area are no longer listed.

    Ask, and Ye shall recieve.

The Forums Search now works properly. Let the rejoicing begin, as thy forums search dost properly execute.

Also, I just nuked over 200 users that never completed registration. No point in two year old users sitting in the database that will likely never finish their registrations. (I kept all unfinished registrations that are under 90 days old, however.)
