Official UK Dedicated Pegasos Event (helpers needed)
  • Visitor
  • Amber-inc and some Pegasos/Amiga community members are getting together to hold a dedicated Pegasos II event right here in the Uk.

We have a variety of choice of venue and time and webspace to give people directions and tell them more about the event.

We need some helpers to come along with their hardware and and display it to others.

We will have build sessions and technical support aswell as games tournaments and refreshments i.e beer!

And we can try to have some Big Names here to give a few speaches or maybe a questions and answers session.

We need people from the uk that are interested to talk here or contact us in email at oneill_amber@yahoo.co.uk.

We cant wait to get an event up and running we will give it enough time so we can get everything ready and try to sell tables to pay for the venue.

    Robert.

  • We need anybody willing to sell their computers or bring there machines along to demonstrate and have a good time!!

Please respond as we need to have a specail Pegasos Computer Meeting in the UK

We have been thinking of some ideas for the name of the event ie "MORPHTIME" or "Pegasos Power"

Could YOU come up with the name of the UK dedicated pegasos event?

    We Need YOU!

Come on dont be shy! If you want tro sell anything or want to get a Pegasos come and get this event of the ground its easy really.

We have a choice of venue to suit different volumes and would have an online ticket system using paypal so people can buy their tickets and we could list their names and check on entry plus you can pay on the door £2.50

We will have a build session and bring and buy section plus try to have BIG NAMES there to give speeches.

There will be also a The Great Raffle where lucky people will be taking home their very own Pegasos II Mainboard with G4 1GHz CPU( Raffle ticket only available at the event)

    Please give us some feedback!

Wonder if there is enough Pegasos-people in UK to fill even one table...? Meaning, are you sure it's the right time to arrange such a meeting?

Indeed. In the UK, for some reason, MOS has always been way behind OS4 in the popularity stakes. There aren't many of us Peg owners here.

  • Ive asked Thomas Knable from Bplan to come and the guys from ggs.data

    Thanks.

I agree that OS4 is more popular but only with oldies and its not even finished and you cant get any A1 boards they are way to expensive and it doesnt look as cool as MorphOS!
and the Pegasos II knocks spots of any Amiga!

Pegasos is the way to go its like an opensource diy mac.

we deffinately need a dedicated high profile event over here we are going to call it "Pegasos Power" as some people use linux like myself aswell.

    http://www.pc-x-treme.com/pegasospower/pegasospower.htm

This is just a quick front page and it will have its own domain name and be updated frequently

If you are interested in coming to one of our little meeting feel free to do so just contact us

If you want to organise a North East event I'll be happy to help - but wouldn't it be more practical to make it an 'Amiga' show? I think it's a long time since, and will be a long time coming for Pegasos/AmigaOne/Classic owners to be able to put on their own shows. Let's encourage cross-fertilisation.

  • Yes Amigas are most welcome and AmigaKit.com will be attending selling all types of Amiga Gear!

I will make this clearer on the webpage that any computers are welcome

I personally will be bringing a clear pc and a Pegasos II G4!

There is much interest and we will be having the raffle which the prizes will be announced soon!

Anybody is welcome to come even if you just want to chat and take photo's

We are having a pc retailer there aswell selling hardrives and graphics cards called A1 Computers!

We will be setting the domain name and announcing the event date very soon once we gathered enough stall holders

Thankyou very much and any computers are welcome, I will be displaying my G4 Power Station! and webserving the event from a clear pc.

But the main details that we will be covering will be about the Pegasos and Alternative operating systems.
