Hi, I'm interested in pegasos (since I'm an old amiga user). I found out the official pegasos reseller in japan, (keyton computer) but their prices blew me away. Their price for a peg 2 board with G4 processor is an astounding 104.000 yen (which is equal to 776€ or 1000$). Why is the price difference ? if I order by mail from pegasos webshop it will cost me about 714 $ including the shipping fee.

Well the resellers dont get much of a price break from bplan/Genesi is why. They need to make some money too right. You can order a complete system from the Gentoo web site for $999. That a case, video card, RAM, and Pegasos II G4. Its the best deal I have seen. I also hear that you can get one fron the Freescale site for $599, that also a complete system.

Just a couple points:

If you are registered in the Gentoo Community and you want a complete system that is the least expensive route. We will be opening up more opportunities with development communities like Gentoo if that one goes well. These orders will not be delivered until April.

If you just want a board or a complete machine you can either buy it though our site or Freescale's. In either case, it is Genesi who will ship it to you. Please keep in mind that the pricing mentioned by AciII is for a thin client when a minimum of FIVE are purchased with a Pegasos File Server.
