Remember, the key word in the title of the Blog is "Evolution."
But, before we take this discussion further we will be getting the sample files from Kim to the AmigaZeux Team this week so the effort can be mirrored for MorphOS users.
Back to the discussion...
The immediate goal would be to just get something working to do this in a less expensive way:
https://www.pegasosppc.com/store.php?category=8Right now using the UPS engine if we order this and have it shipped to us in Paris it will sum to this:
Shipping Option Total
Including Shipping
UPS Worldwide Express
@ $52.01 $65.96
UPS Worldwide Expedited
@ $48.45 $62.40
UPS Worldwide Express Plus
@ $95.81 $109.76
Part of the reason we did this was to make the point that this is NOT the way ahead. The objective is no more inventory, no more shipping delays, no more damaged products that have to be returned and instant access to the whole world... everybody wins. No more heavy logistics means lower production costs for the provider and this means better prices for the customer - etc., etc. Hence, this discussion...
From a technical perspective the goal is to get a system working on a set platform. We will obtain a suitable number of smart card readers to support a Gentoo Developer/User group and then we will start trying things with that CD and expand the effort with the further involvement of Kim. We are willing to do this for MorphOS users too.
This is another hook into Sun. Over 750 million Java smart cards or more commonly known as SIM cards have been distributed in mobile phones.
Stay tuned...
