MorphOSPPC is open and the official address of MorphOS online.

The new site will be up soon. For now, the old one still communicates a better commercial message than the alternative. We still have that to think about.

Hmm, people better update the links in all their html pages. :-)

By the way, it still says "MorphOS.net" in the page title though. That is a quick and easy modification!
MorphOS is Amiga done right! :-)
MorphOS NG will be AROS done right! :-)

Sounds to me like they are upset for not being fully paid for an incomplete product. Let's compare the feature list to what we actually got. Looks like they have a long way to go to even complete version 1.3.

This reminds me of the Amiga, Inc - McEwen / Amithlon / Haage and Partner fiasco of a couple years ago.

Hard to say without actually seeing the contract between Genesi & MOS devel team. From the way it sounds, the WHOLE development team is leaving? Why would the actions of 4 programmers have any effect on licensing? Pull their code, substitute replacement code. But no MUI = BAD. Why doesnt the whole development team band together to force Genesi to pay? I bet that would get 'em to pay pretty dang quick.

BUT, if what bbrv says is true that they have 1.4.x paid off and have licenses to sell (I mean, give away for free) those w/the motherboard then they are ok I would assume. I'm not a lawyer, I just play a poor one on the internet.

Theres 2 sides to every story, no matter how much bbrv is sugar coating it, I do not believe it for one second. David, Stefan, Treveur, & Oliver (not counting the $10k owed to Wayne from AO), they would not make up something like this.

Someone should make up his mind. First "no 1.5 until it's payed up" and now "no 1.4 until it's payed up".

Yep, this is very strange. And... disappointing... And there are no any words from those 4 developers, except their (?) publication on morphos.net. That sux.

This just gets better and better as I read more and more. Whats next? Will we all have to give back the Pegasos we paid for because the name is not paid for to someone and they want all hardware back as a result? :-P

I'm under the impression that 1.4 is paid for? It sounds strange if it would even be possible to "revoke" that?

However, my hope for a peaceful solution to this has just dropped a few notches. These different views on things might only be solved in a court of law now, and people are not often good friends after those ...

If they are unpaid at the moment, It may concern the version 1.4.
Anyway, if there is a contract and Genesi hasn't paid the whole contract they will have big troubles.
Genesi can't say they own MorphOS as the rights on sources are not their property. This means they can only distribute morphos. But If they don't pay for the whole contract (or a new contract about 1.5) then the contract can be cancelled of course for MOS 1.4 by justice.
Creating a new site in that context can be dangerous for genesi's future.
And I notice that BBRV seems to have an heavy need of MOS. To pay the MOS Team is certainly the only thing to do to continue to distribute MOS . The plugin story is stupid because they can do a new 1.4b MOS version and plugins only for this version lol
To pay or not to pay or to distribute or not to distribute It's the question...

It is a real website and it was done with the complete support and approval of Ralph, who owns most of MorphOS and who remains a shareholder of Genesi/bplan.

Nobody likes this situation, but we are not going to destory the opportunity for all on the account of a few. We will keep doing what we have done and when David and Stefan are ready to have serious discussions about the future we will be ready to have them. Until then, we are pressing ahead.

@BBRV > ..he old one still communicates a better commercial message than the alternative. "better commercial message"? "Alternative"? What are you speaking about? You did not completely payed these developers for their work and now this is the situation. If you can, try to solve it (=pay them). very nice website.

Best thing did by Bplan : pegasos
Best thing did by MOS team : Morphos
Best thing did by Genesi : Web sites and good advertises

So, beautifull web sites will not solv the unpayed problem. Just
putting nice pictures on mos users minds.

The way we are taking is nice, but wrong !

The important thing is who has the rights for MOS. If Ralph has the rights he does what he wants with them. If many people has the rights on the core system then It's an unsolvable problem...
If BBRV is right then he may keep internal problems inside of the company...

You are right! Probably the most important aspect in question is MUI developed by Stefan Stuntz. We just finished a good discussion with Stefan and we think we can clear this issue too so this will not be a problem for MorphOS and its future. Then we can worry about Ambient or other alternatives. If not (but I think we can), MorphOS will head to the embedded markets and we will continue to develop the platform with Linux.

Don't worry too much, we think this will all be sorted out...;-)
