Today, my wife and I had some fun at a local CompUSA store, a major computer retailer here in the USA.

Every computer we found hooked up to the Internet via WiFi, we launched a browser and left the following websites on them: Genesi, MorphOS, PegasosPPC, and MorphZone. ;-)

We even saw customers reading the above-mentioned websites on the computers we visited. It was a fun couple of hours... :-D

    haha

    @ james

you my find this post interesting....it is an onld one from long ago i posted

"...so i go into the "Mac store" in walnutcreek (my old home town) and this is a very profecinal place there is a really amazing amout of stuff on display and in a neet fashon. so i am going around and i figure i have a little free time on my hands so why not have some fun. So i go to one of the display computers and put PegasosPPC.com on the desktop in safari so everyone can see the webpage. Thinking this was funny I went to another computer and did the same thing. No one notcied so i did it again...after doing this to about 19 computers people started to notice. I saw a man ask one of the sales representatives to come over and explain the Pegasos2 to him becuase he said it sounded intereseting. I listened into more of his conversation and he said "morphos sounds cool". The sales rep being horibly confused looked at the page the man was veiwing and sees it is Genesi not apple. The look on his face was priceless, imagine the look you would have if while you were sitting at your table having breakfast your dog comes up and sits on the chair next to you and in plain english askes you for a cup of coffee and startes reading the news paper, well it was kinda like that. He says something under his breathe into a little radio and some of the other employes start to look around the room at the display computers, the same look i described was all over (it was soo funny). BUT here is the best part. people were really interested in the Pegasos they were corious and had questions and 1 man wanted to buy one on the spot. I think we need to do some large scale advertising because people really liked what they saw. (and no i will not do this to every apple store i go into so u can't use me as advertising hehe.......ok i probly will do it to every apple store but thats not the point) people like the pegasos and this is good!"

This all reminds me of when I was a kid. I went into a kmart, and went to a Commodore Vic20 and entered a card game I made in basic off the top of my head. No one was paying attention to me. It blew thier minds trying to figure out how it got there with no disk drives or anything attached.

    That is quite funny... hehehe

I would hope that when Genesi is ready to go mass market, that they have a world-wide advertising blitz ready. Also, this is why Genesi needs their own case design(s) at that point in time. This is important I think for a couple of reasons:

    1. The average computer user doesn't want to put a system together like many of us can.

    2. The look of the computer case also plays a factor into swaying interested customers to consider a purchase.

Genesi needs to do this when they are ready, for the mass market sales that will eventually come.

Personally, I would love an official Pegasos cube-styled case that has an optional clear window on both sides of the case, with the motherboard mounted on the bottom, and room for two CD drives, one or two floppy drives, and two HDs. Modders would love this a lot... ;-)

I decided I am getting a glossy-white Ultra case to build my Pegasos computer. They also have a really cool power supply that is modular and shines with different colours from the fans inside. The whole inside is going to have coloured light too. Check this page and look at all the nice pictures, especially the one with the Ultra case. :)

Ultra X-Connect Power Supply - Green
Ultra X-Connect Power Supply - Blue
Ultra X-Connect Power Supply - Orange

I have to decide which colour to pick - I'm leaning toward blue. :-D

Genesi can have a Pegasos case by manufacturing it themseleves or outsourcing it to someone else. Probably outsourcing it would be a better idea - cheaper for Genesi in the long run.

The case must be stylish, and I think a pure black and a pure white version should be produced. Imagine a pure white cube (not shiny) with a nice MorphOS butterfly logo on the case. ;-) I have a nice picture of it in my head too...

Years ago at the Cebit in Hannover at the presentation of the new AMD Athlon I've loaded on one of the demonstration-computers www.amiga.com. And what happened: The computer crashed!

My next computer after the A 4000 was then an ibook... :-D
