I would like to see Imagination Technologies receive a Pegasos ODW for evaluation.

They have recently been licensing their PowerVR technology to mobile/handheld makers, and SEGA for their Arcade game systems.

If one of the goals of Genesi were to license MorphOS to PowerPC developers, a fully functional PowerVR 3D driver that runs on MorphOS would make it more attractive these companies.

What if licensing for PowerVR is more attainable at this present time than ATI or NVidia?

It might be *in fashion* this year for everyone to be using ATI products, so of course everyone wants to have ATI graphics cards in their systems. But what is *in fashion* this year could easily be replaced next year! We are counting on it! :-D

What if next year a dark horse emerges that uses PowerVR technology and people start buying it so it becomes *fashionable*?

Not I'm not sure if there will be that many PowerPC based handhelds on the market, but there are certainly other applications where having a fully supported PowerVR driver would benefit Pegasos & MorphOS immensely.

And it would be interesting to show the ATI people a Pegasos running PowerVR 3D and ask them when they are going to license driver technology for the Pegasos. :-D

Interesting, Darth_X. Is PowerVR, technology and performance wise, comparable to other desktop solutions, like ATi and nVidia? Can people buy common graphic cards based in their chips?

Imagination Technologies have no more reduced their software development fees to "one free desktop system" than anyone in this community has the money to pay for the licenses for the resultant software :)

We can't make companies do what they don't want to do. No amount of "FREE HARDWARE!!!!!!111one" is going to make Imagination Technologies port their drivers to MorphOS.

I would like to see everyone on the planet get a Pegasos so I can retire early. Unfortunately it isn't going to be the case; not everybody wants one.

Imagination Technologies are pretty much only working on PDA- and set-top-box-oriented products now. The Kyro cards were quite good at the time, but are several generations behind now, both feature- and performance-wise (I realise many here use even older Voodoo 3:s, but instead of investing in even more dead technology the effort would be better spent at something more current).
