People have eyes to read with and brains to think with themselves. Everyone knows by now who you are, how you thinks and reasons, and how your site works and what it stands for. No need for you to "convince" people of the opposite, that is only insulting to peoples intelligence.

Surely, not everyone agrees with me or what I write, I am perfectly fine with that and totally respect it, and *I* don't force my views onto anyone. I am just one voice of many in a debate that should be open and free. If anyone don't agree with me, then I expect to either be ignored or replied to, not banned, but hey, it's your call, and I only care on an abstract level anyway, so don't let me interfere. So, now that you have "defended your name", there is no need to take this thread any more off topic. Thank you for your participation! :-)

What you mean is that you and a bunch of your mates have made a whole load of assumptions about me, and why I post what I post, spread it around and that has become your excuse for the way you post about me. How impressive.

Neither do *I*, but you do like to get a little fake distorted picture of people in your mind and spread around your own distortion.

Go and have your debate, I'm not stopping you, sounds like you want to gag me or pass around preconceptions about me. Nothing like a little hypocrisy in the morning is there?

Yes, I have "defended my name" but I don't expect that to change anyones perception of me either grounded in reality, or your little smears you throw around the net.

However, I think that thread linked to where you got restricted for mouthing off people will see all sides of the debate being represented on the thread. They will also see your contribution, totally in its original form, and judge YOU accordingly.

Gee, how patronising, I'll just leave now shall I? No. I'll leave this forum when Targhan, who IS a gentleman, asks me and not before.

    You sir, are no gentleman.

Do what you will, but I just noticed I got a 30 day lock on my account for it. So I feel it was personal. I havnet dont anything ever to deserve that.

Anyway its a great deal and I know several AW.net users that said they would like an Peg if they were better priced, so I posted that.

All people who post spam adverts at the moment get that, we discuss it on the staff forum then set it accordingly.

We just threw someone off the site for doing it twice in a row. When you look at the moderation stack ( what gets moderated ), spam adverts take up nearly 80% of incidences, which is why we are taking a tough line on it.

Lots of people on aw.net have Pegs, a few of the moderators have them too.

It *IS* a good price, and if I could justify another ppc linux box at the moment I'd buy one. But I can't. I've already got one machine sitting there only building versions of products every so often for ppc linux that really is underused.

    Cheers

    Dave.

Yes, and? We have cracked down on Amiga advertisers too ( naming no names here - that are companies ) as well as given a cooling off period to two users in the last month that posted links to their e-bay auctions where they were selling Amiga kit.

You can buy a PC, put amithlon on it ( release it Bernie release it!! ), or AmigaForever, would that then justify advertising it in the forums? Should we accept adverts saying "buy this, from Wal*Mart only 299 dollars?" just in case you might be able to run AROS on it?

No. Same principle applies. Maybe 30 days is harsh for a long standing member, but we will review that on the staff forum.

    Guys!

Everyone please take a chill pill for a sec.

As a current Peg owner (yup, just received mine! ;-) ) I too want to see the platform promoted. However, the rules on aw.net (for those that don't know I am Theodosius, a moderator on aw.net) just do not allow for a clear advertisement for a product within the forums. It is true, we have had problems with such ads before (whether they be classic eBay ads, and ads from other companies and dealers who directly deal with all things Amiga). The posts or threads have very often been taken off the forums. There is no proactive policy to conspire against the Peg or MOS or its users. Believe me, otherwise, I would have been stripped of my moderator status. Truly, it is a non-issue.

Again, please take note all, the taking down of the thread was NOT aimed against the Peg. It is something that we do on most threads (wherever we can).

@Acill, I will look into your situation, and see what can be done.

    I give you my word.

@tmhg, I'll also look into your situation.

I also give you my word.

    Please don't despair yet!

    Cheers

    Nick

Now can I please go back to installing my new Peg? :-D

    -edit-

My apologies Brotheris, I hadn't seen your reply. Feel free to delete this post.

Uhmm.. well.. no. It's their site and they make the rules.

We have had our own share of adverts here at MZ aswell, people selling pegs etc... I have even locked or removed a few of them but lately I have given up.

What I do not understand is this red and blue situation, my AOne/Peg MorphOS/OS4 is more a Amiga then yours.
This is realy realy is very childish, each one of them is just a clone and not even complete compatible.
I think a windows PC with WinUAE is more of a Amiga than every one of them :-P

Please everyone, just STOP this nonsense. I bought my pegasos to have pleasure, not to start a war.

What you fail to grasp is that I see nothing wrong with the post you keep referring to. If I did, I wouldn't have posted it in the first place, or I would have edited it away or such. I have certainly no reason to be ashamed about that post, I actually think it pictures the situation spot on, it is *my* view, but instead of discussing it, you personally choose to handle it *your own* way.

I understood what you meant.. what I tried to tell is that anything which is approved by the moderators is also 'in the line with the siterules'. Sometimes moderation might slightly mix up with the siterules... better not read them like the bible..

    Congratulations to your Peg! :-)

Keep your AmigaOS3.9 CD within reach, you might want to install Arexx and the Genesis key from it (and perhaps something else too, Amiga guide or such). There are lots of info on this site in FAQ and if you use the search function. If you run into problems, don't hecitate to ask here! :-)

In the trashcan forum ( which has only been instituted for a while ) there are 7 threads where people have posted similar adverts to the one that got moderated but about AmigaONEs, uA1cs etc that are up for sale. I already made that point, but you chose to ignore it.

There is a difference between a discussion and an advert, if you can't make that distinction yourself then there is no point in further trying to explain it to you.

You don't see what was wrong with your post, that I don't really give two hoots about. It was moderated, and you got your panties in a bunch, happens every day.

You don't see anything wrong with what you post, I don't see anything wrong with what I post. That gets us ..... oh .... lets measure .... hmm.... nowhere.

My view is that in this thread you revealed yourself to be a messer, you like to wander around the net starting flamewars. When you get caught out, you sulk, and do all you can to smear the people that catch you at it all over as some kind of punishment for daring to mess with the great 'takemehomegrandma'. The fact that you can't see your own faults less acknowledge them is part of the syndrome.

I ordered one, the credit card amount was ~958 dollars.
    UPS was ~156 dollars.

But I don't know if I have to pay UPS tax when they deliver the ODW at my place.

~635 euro for the machine only is still cheap IMHO.
