    Merry Christmas Everyone!!! :-)

Just a quick and short corporate note: we did manage to conclude a successful Pilot Project last night with...you guessed it! :-) Santa Claus! Here is a short clip as he flew by our apartment.

Take special note of the MorphOS based deployment in the uniquely designed embedded system we perfected for Santa. The Pilot (no pun intended!) is/was a great success, millions of presents were delivered to good little boys and girls and Santa sampled many more delicious cookies! :-)

Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas MorphOS with many good tidings and exciting things coming in 2005!!! :-D

    R&B :-)

Actually Wolfe, you missed that because of the sensor based automatic detection system we integrated into the device. :-D It worked! Here is the base system:

    MobileGT

    :-o

We figured telematics was a great place for MorphOS so we tested the system with User #1, you know who....;-) If he can use it and it performs well, surely we have a future in planes, trains, ships and automobiles!

From the data we have accumulated so far the system worked pretty well. We monitored all the reindeer during the entire voyage (Comet had some digestive problems, but that was it). We maintained full structural awareness of the sleigh and even keep an accurate inventory of all presents as they were left by Santa. MorphOS performed superbly in this embedded environment. Santa and the reindeer achieved a speed of MACH 11.2 over the western Pacific on their way into Japan. They slowed down along the way here and there, but kept their speed at 85% of that level most of the way.

We will publish more on this success soon!

One early achievement we can boast about now: Santa wants MorphOS in as many places as possible next Christmas and we are going to do our best to accomodate him! Happy Holidays Everyone!

    R&B :-)

Hey SoundSquare have some Holiday fun!

If we were avoiding the topic we would have closed MorphZone! As it is, we just shipped another 50+ Open Desktop Workstations to developers - and many are MorphOS Developers.

It is going to take us some time to do what is required, but we have already started and before Christmas next year we will be off and running again in this department. ;-)

While there indeed is a considerable amount of time until the next Christmas, there is also quite encouraging to see that "this department" is not abandoned at all! :-) For myself I would also like to put some emphasis on the "before" word when reading this statement! Who knows? ;-)

Naturally, a setback like the one we recently saw is bound to get consequences for all of us, and it is also bound to take time to work around (and hopefully other areas will be continued to be worked on as well in the meantime, other than just the "workarounds", I know it has already since the 1.4 release), but it has to be done, and it's nice to see *it will* be done! And who knows, even though MorphOS 1.4 works just fine for most purposes already (at least for me ;-)), perhaps there will be some bugfixes/patches/updates released in the meantime that installs on top of the current MorphOS release which adds/updates certain components? That would be nice! :-)

I am looking forward to some announcement in a close future about some upcoming intermediary update that installs on top of MorphOS 1.4 while waiting for the next "real" release!

    @bbrv

So what was this pilot? What did it involve? It's great to know that things are progressing. But I would like some honest news about MOS and Genesi. I bought my Peg to run MOS on it. If it's not going to continue (in it's current form) thats fine, I just want to know if it's going to continue with or without changes or even at all. You have not done any anouncements that regard this that I am aware of. Some real and crediable news would be nice.

A response to this would also be nice. I dont want any smoke blown up my skirt either, I just want the plain and simple facts. If you cant give anything a reply stating that would do.

    Sincere Thanks.

Hey Mithalas, you turning our Holiday fun into a more serious thread. Here is what we have said:

    http://www.genesi.lu/morphos_statement.php

We added a few more things here. We cannot predict the future. You can take some stock in our past. We don't give up very quickly. We have been as honest about this situation as we can be. There are no more facts to share with you.

We will continue to do the best we can.
