I've just successfully installed the new firmware-upgrade from bplan, but now my system stops booting at the MorphOS-Splash-Screen!
After the update all my BIOS-Settings were set back to sth. that looked like the systems wants to boot Linux. I tried to set my defaults but I might have forgotten something.
Can anybody please post his printenv from the BIOS?
I usually boot from /pci/ide/disk@0,0:0 and the bootfile is boot14.img
You can take a look at my "photo-tutorial" in "pics from firmware upgrade" forum thread. Basically you just have to re-set your boot-device and boot-file environment variables in OF back to old values.
Yep, I did store the settings with nvstore and they remain intact when checking them. :)
Let me describe more precisely what my Peg2 does:
Turning it on it loads the boot-image (boot14.img, MOS 1.4.2). It then pauses for about 2 seconds and then starts loading the rest of the system. It heavily access my IDE-Drive, where Ambient is on, until it shows the MorphOS-startup-logo (that blueish logo with the butterfly). Then it stops. I can even hear my scsi-disk being accessed (might be the moment ambient tries to bind the drivers?)
Is ist possible to reflash the older update from december? Just wanted to have asked - I don't really think so. :)
Does Your Scsi Drive have a bootable partition, namely 0,0? I found out that if the peg has a choice between booting the ide and the scsi, that it will stall. I corrected this by disconnecting the scsi drive and letting the Ide boot then changing my boot and mount options on the scsi so that they wont interupt each other.
