Does anyone know if there will be a release of morphos 2.0 for poweruped Amigas with ppc cards?

    And one more thing!
Where the heck are you finding all those cool backgroundimages I see in the gallery? :)

As far as I know, if we, the power up user want to have Morph os 2.0 on our machines we have to support, donate to the Morphos Team PayPay account.

I strongly recommend all the powerup user to transfer at least 10 euros. Because, at least from what I've been told there is a possibility ;)

    Good advice. :-)

Make it $25 that is great software for classic ppc amigas!

I'm hoping that MOS Team will SELL a commercial version with Support for EFIKA, Pegasos 1/2, and Amiga PPC for around $99 - $150.

Then of course I will pay :) Have already payd one time before. Even before I had tried Morphos I send some EUR:s, just because I think that they are doing an incredible good job! I would glady pay for that OS.

if they would sell a commercial version for PowerUP, they have to support it and with the mess of Amiga configuration around, is not an option IMHO.

And then MOS 2.0 on a PowerUP? mhhh!

Well, MorphOS is valuable however I don't think you maximize the revenue by selling it that high. Better to have a good amount of users buying it at 49.95 euros than just a few users buying it at 99.95 euros. Or whatever high/low numbers you want to stick in there.

    Velcro:

Just how many users you think there are that will buy this. $99 for an os is reasonable. Look how much OSX and Vista costs. Keep in mind all the hrs of work the devs put into this and this money gets split, so not alot of money at all. If you have 2k users @ $99 thats ONLY $20k - not a lot of money for this level of development.

And as far as Laire and others getting annoyed about our speculation. Its all we have, as there are no real press releases or information given out. The mos team website really should have a lot more content and information...

    There will be.

At the very latest when MorphOS 2.0 will become publically available. I am optimistic a fair number of people respect the opinion that there is not a lot of point in extensively promoting MorphOS 1.4.x. at this point in time.

Thx, but at the risk of being a broken record, as i've said this so many times, there should be promotional info on the upcoming release. I wasnt referring to 1.4.5 info. There should be content that generates excitement for the new release and new hardware. This is pretty elementary stuff.

However, this kind of lack of promotion is typical of a hacker/developer led team where there is no marketing/pr arm. This is what is lacking with Mos team imho.

    Check you maths - $99 x 2000 = (almost) $200k ($198k to be precise).

This is great I am really glad I spent money I did on peg2. It was a lot of money for me come up with back then and well every time i've used the computer i've loved it.

Yes, you will have to pay for the next version.

As for PowerUP, it depends entirely on the amount of motivation (paypal) we get from users AND whether our hardware still works ;) Do mind that Pegasos2 (and 1) and Efika are our primary target. Don't expect PowerUP support immediately with an 2.0 release for those.

Note: my A1200PPC is _still_ usable, so I might try 2.0 on it at some point ;)

You cannot (better: should not) compare MOS with OSX or Vista. I guess a good pricetag for MOS would be ~50 EUR. Only if it is cheap enough it will attract other ppl. Addicts like us would pay much, much higher prices of course, but we are only few addicts and you have to lower costs to fix on new addicts ;-)

I'm not saying that classic shouldn't be supported, but if you really enjoy using MorphOS, I think it would be better to buy faster & cheaper (than your classic amiga) hardware to run it on.

Sure it can run "good enough for you", but at least I much rather use it on hardware, that's much easier to replace, if it should break.

Let classics rest, and only bother them when they're absolutely needed, they're growing old and tired :-)

Would be great, I think so, but before I pay something using paypal I would be happy to get a working MOS version...

I even would pay up to 100 Euros, but for that money I would expect a fully working cd installation with all the tools needed.

At the moment you have to search to much informations to get MOs running on a ppc like mine.

    @Jupp3

For your information, I do have a Pegasos 2. But I also have a lot of other Amigas.

    A1200PPC, A4000T Escom CyberstormPPC, A1200 Blizzard 060 etc.

I won't let classic die. I know a great deal of ppl who would like to see Mos 2.0 running on their AmigasPPC, and they are willing to motivate (pay) in order to see how their dreams about up to date PPC system comes true.

    :-D

P.s. Let's not forget about past, because the future will forget about us. ;-)
