    Hi guys,

Rusback, the bourriquet dev is finishing a nice packer/unpacker with winrar GUY style for morphos.
LHA only is supported on the first release, but on next releases, more formats will be added like ZIP.

It's always dificult to make or edit archives, but with Kompaktor it's fingers in the noise ;-)

    Here are some screen shots.

    Looks great :-)

It would be nice if it was possible in Ambient to create context menus for each icons, so you could select one or more icons, press the right mouse button, a context menu would pop-up and you could choose the option of compressing an entire directory using Kompaktor...

How about being able to mount an existing / new archive as a read/write drive? Now THAT would be cool... Well, maybe some day... :-)

I've searched in Aminet, and was only able to find Tar_handler, which is a very old tool to mount TAR files. Sure no LHA-mount exists?

why does he not utilise (port) the opensource xadlib?
it's got unarchivers comning out of it's ears (but some would need some work -RAR-) unfortunately it's only for unarcing, so perhaps it falls on that... has anyone ported xadlib to mos?.

Why port, you can use the 68k version.
I am using Filer for Archivehandling.

    Jupp3,

it's already possible to add such global actions to files/dirs. The limitation ATM is that it only applies to individual menu and not group menu.

Nice one :) So I am finally able to replace my good old MiraWizArc which is, surprise surprise no longer working with Mui 4.0 (really hope all that incompatibilities get sorted before the final release...)

    Very nice :)

But until it supports only lha I'd stay at Voodoo-X. :)

Well, Voodoo X doesn`t support packing, so it isn`t a real alternative here ;) However I agree that it would be nice if Kompaktor will support XAD for unpacking tasks.

I love it (and also the girl of the backdrops :-D )
It will be open source(the app, not the girl ;-) )
    Any hope for a OS4, OS3.x and/or AROS version?

It has the same Problem as Wildfire has, it is impossible to select a path. Mirawizarc allways jumps to t: if i try to add a subdir for packing on any device other then ram: , Wildfire has a similar problem where I can`t pass a path when I change a project or start a new project. My Workaround for wildfire is to manipulate the project files which are just plain textfiles. The MUI 4 beta which was "leaked" here previously showed the same behaviour, so I guess it is either unnoticed or considered not worth to be fixed. (Well I can`t even say if this is a "bug" or belongs to the part in the readme where it was said that some MUI apps will possibly brake. I simply don`t have the knowledge about that issue. However it is actually a real Problem for me.)

    @ Fransexy

    Kompaktor will be freeware.
At this time, it's plained a MUI / MOS version, then Feelin / MOS and then, why not a feelin / OS4 or Felling /OS3. Just have to ask rusback for it ;-)
