    Because I had done a bunch of weird stuff with Powerup/Warpup and various graphic and other libraries and other software with my MOS installation, I saved off my stuff, formatted the hard-drive and installed 1.4.4 from scratch.

    Two of the first things I put back on were mPlayer and the great Devedie. However when I play DVDs now I don't get the same good performance I got previously. It would be hasty to blame 1.4.4 for this because it could be some other thing. But I wanted to ask: has anyone else noted DVD play performance changes after installing 1.4.4?

    I get sound skipping/infinite repeating, sync and other problems for instance the framerate is not as good as it was previously. The slider bar introduced with the latest Devedie does not work for me. Perhaps it is a problem with the latest Devedie. The installer script in the latest Devedie archive didn't work for me (I use Installer 43_3 from Aminet). The install script seemed to be wanting to load pictures or something. I remarked out lines 38 to 41 IIRC and it installed after that. I don't think I remarked out anything related to the actual program.

    Anyhow it is a big thing for me to be able to play DVDs on my G3 Peg so hopefully I will be able to fix this soon. Any suggestions, please post.

    I never had a good DVD playing on my PEG.
    Since last devedie update, it does not work anymore. It freezes the
    PEG.

    Bonjour Serge,

    I had tested the two latest versions of devedie ( 1.1.0 and 1.1.1 ). With theses versions, I can playback the video but I have no sound. Don't forget to use Mplayer Arexx. So I still use Devedie 0.5.6 with mplayer1, and I haven't one problems to playback DVD ( picture and sound, fullscreen or not )
    Call me and come to home ;-)

    @Tiki: Have you tried to change the audio driver to "ahi low level"?

    @Tiki,

    Ah it is the sound slider. You have to use the mouse on the sound slider to turn up the volume, because it starts up set to zero.

    Ah vovka, we're having trouble.

    I tried 1.10 and that had the sound skipping and other problems. I tried changing the options and frame-skip and overlay and so forth and I still had problems. I added the config and prefs files you posted in this thread, no luck. Then I downloaded and installed the latest 1.1.1 from amirus.ru.org and that just crashes MOS hard, and I added the config and prefs file there too, still crashes.

    I will have to dig up a previous version. I guess I have it on a CD somewhere. Does anyone know where we may download the latest Devedie before 1.x?

    Update: I found some older Devedie versions on Aminet: here.

    Last update: I downloaded Devedie 0.50. This still works. It also doesn't seem to require rexxsys.lib. I'd prefer to use software that doesn't require stuff like that. A status or debug window pops up behind the video but I think this always happened with 0.50. Doesn't really bother me.
