    hello,

    what do you think about datatypes for pictures warp, bmp, jfif, pcx, png, psd and tiff ? how worth are those ones that have a morphos equivalent ? do you use them, pegasos owners ?

    I used them on my Amiga with a CSPPC card back before I sold it. They work okay, but I didnt notice any better speeds on MorphOS with them installed so I removed them. The default ones seem to be good.

    I'm using Warp datatypes except the PNG datatype, because I can't get the WarpDTPrefs program to run on MorphOS (if I remember correctly it uses Reaction...) thus PNG transparency is not in use. Might be easy to set manually the env variable, but the datatypes provided with MOS1.4 seem to work as well as the Warp ones, so I use the original for PNG.

    i use the PSD one (some older version), works very well under MorphOS.

    For the rest there are already MorphOS equivalents anyway.. so i didn't bothered to install them. Dunno which one is faster and which one not (I never made speedtests).

    @FALCON1

    I have all the classes installed and e.g. Snoopdos shows that all files to be opened are ok... It just won't start.. weird... Must compare the classes from my hd to the ones in the Aminet package...

    Okay, got it to work and the problem was resource.library ! I had v44.103 installed (probably from OS3.9BB2 ?), copied it over with 44.102 from OS3.9 cd...

    Isn't there also some update, if I recall correctly, available at A-Web page?

    Hello guys,

    I have finally just leaved the WarpTIFF.datatype beacause that kind of datatype is missing in Morphos. It is very speed to load/show big tiff pictures. On an other side native datatypes for tiff, targa and pict format pictures are needed in Morphos. Does anybody know if they would/will be included in Morphos 1.5 ?

    The MOS team has been silent so only they will know. I'm sure when we see it at last it will have some new ones though.
