liquidbit : You seem to have strange problems. And it sound even stranger to me when you say you have at least some experience with Linux (well - maybe the distribution choice is not the best, but it's Linux after all ).

I can't help you with the other distros, but could you please tell me what is the effect of your videocard not beeing recognized by Gentoo? In which stage - is it during boot or maybe later in X? If it's during boot process please give the exact commandline you enter at the OF prompt to boot the Gentoo install kernel. If your card is standard AGP Radeon, then there should be absolutely no problems with it. It just have to work.
