The Gentoo installation docs were pretty good. I got the base system installed and running without any problems... still working on a few things. Installing on Pegasos hardware is not much different from other systems, you just need some patience :) and make sure the boot images (and any custom kernels you may build) will work on Pegasos.

Keep a known working boot image on your boot partition so you can always get the machine booted in case of a mistake.
