Yes, marketing names are big mess.
Radeon cards have:
Architecture ( TeraScale 2 ), Generation ( Northern I. ), gfx chip ( Barts ) and marketing name ( HD 6870 ). For compatibility is most important gfx chip and architecture. The other two are misleading.
So in Morphos we can have (
acc. to my speculation only! )
Barts ( Northern I. ) = UVD 3.1
Cypres ( Evergreen ) = UVD 2.3
both with MPEG4, H.264 support. Not bad -
