Hi everyone !

Did anyone manage to make the latest Scalos (with PNG icons support) work under MOS ? (scalos.noname.fr)

How to install it properly ?

I tryed it just a couple of days ago hepeing to find something better then the poor Ambient. I put this line in startup-sequence before loadwb:

Assign SCALOS: Sys:Scalos
Assign LIBS: SCALOS:Libs ADD
Assign LIBS: Scalos:Classes ADD
Assign DEVS: Scalos:Devs ADD

but it seemed to not work because it could'nt find its png datatypes. Maybe the assign did not work so I copyed its directory Devs:datatypes in sys:DEVS/Datatypes and Scalos:classes/datatypes to Sys:classes datatypes. Now it works but it's still unstable and a bit slow.
This is also beacuse I used it togheter with Elena PowerIcons. It crashes often but as she told me the convivence between these two progs has still to be fixed. So wait next releases, Elena is cooperating with Scalos developers. I tryed also an internal beta, but some problems were still there.

actually, powericons is not necessary anymore as the last version of Scalos supports png icons !

here i tried just to install the beta (no installer) and I get hits & no icon is displayed :) Maybe I have to install the old version and then the beta over it ?

You see no icons because, as I told you, for some strange reason it couldn't load its datatypes even if you did an assign. Try to copy them as I told you and you'll see icons.

Yes, but powericons ensures you that every program can access to its icons tooltypes and can read them. 'Some', 'few' progs could have problems recognizing or writing tooltypes without PowerIcons.
