    Drag an icon from desktop to ram disk icon, only the file is copied not the .info file. Open ram disk window, drag an icon from desktop to the window, now both file and .info file is copied.

    Is this normal??

    Interesting observation, I will have to try it on my MacMini w/MorphOS2.4 next time I fire it up. What about dragging an icon for a file on the Ambient desktop to the icon for a hard drive and dropping it, does it have the same behavior, or does the .info file get copied with the file when dropped on a hard drive icon (like it should), and the strange behavior only happen with the RAM disk icon?

    Can this depend on the targat window's view? Such as if it's set on "Only icons" or "All files"...

    By the way, I'm unable to make windows remember these settings, and the "Icons/List" view setting. Tried snapshotting window, icons or all. Am I too rusty yet?

    @amigadave
    It's the same behaviour for all volumes, not just ram:

    @jcmarcos
    It doesn't depend on the target window's view.
    If you want a volume to remember it's view, be sure to have a disk.info in the volumes root directory.
    If you want to snapshot a window view you must have a directoryname.info file to that directory.
    For example: if you want to snapshot your Data:Tools/ drawer, there must be a Data:Tools.info file.
    But alot of times it dont work as expected, maybe some of the developers can give some info here!

    Of course, I should have realized about it, thanks for the tip. Somehow, I supposed that the ".info" file sould be automatically created upon snapshotting.
    As the snapshot function would no nothing without the ".info" files, it should be made unavalaible for the user. But perhaps the files' absence is not easy to check, or would have an unwanted cost.
