I messed up and changed the screen size on the lcd tv, now the ambient screen is too large to select anything! any clues on how to set it back

Ok, i may not be doing his right. turn on my efika, let it load, interrupt the start with esc, then i typed
boot hd0: boot.img bootmenu
i didnt get it to go "error while trying to load or boot
What am i doing wrong?

When you boot from cd, delete your screen prefs from the hard disk.

Or boot as usual from your HD *BUT* press F1 to enter the boot menu, select a standard resolution (like 640x480x60) and change your prefs...

How do i change or delete the monitor prefs?
I want to keep the 1024x768 60Hz resolution but i was getting it in ambient settings.
