I've just got MorphOS installed on my new PegII. In Screenmode prefs there are no resolutions higher than 800x600. I know the video card (Radeon 8500) and monitor can handle it. I've been advised in amiga.org to install the 3D update for MOS. If I do that, will the additional resolutions just appear in screenmode prefs, or do I have to add them manually?

Also, I want to set up a TCP/IP stack in MOS. Is there a guide on how to do this?

    Cheers

You need to manually set up your monitor settings in ModeEdit. If I remember correctly, there's a guide to how to do it on the MorphOS CD.

That's definitely a good idea if you want hardware 3D acceleration. Other than that, it won't give you anything.

Just get the pegasos book. All needed info for a good start is in tehre. Get it from here:

    http://thepegasosbook.wikipeg.org/

'Mode edit' is also covered in that book.

You asked at amiga.org but i answer here :-)

Just Download MOSNet and click the installer. There is some kind of Setup procedure, but i don't know if it fully works. I installed it but did not try out...

    Bye

Default screenmodes added by MorphOS do not take advantage of all the modes available by your monitor and gfx card. You should go into the mode editor, it is quite easy to set your monitor and edit until you have nice modes.

MOSNet is quite easy to install. You need to modify a few text files by hand though.

It is possible you don't have even to modify any file, if you are using DHCP. MOSNet installer asks about this.

Thanks for the replies. I have got the screenmode set up by increasing the refresh rates of the monitor which allowed me to increase the resolution in Mode Edit to 1024x768. I will download MOS Net and give it a try. The documentation looks pretty good so I should be able to get it set up.
