Hi folks!
I am Jam from Turkey. Erm... I am using a Macintosh Performa 5260 with 24 MB of RAM.
I have been looking for a new operating system for a long time to use it on my mac. Classic mac enviroment does not satisfies me anymore.
What kind of Performa?
First performa machines had only 68020 and 6830 machines.
Since Macintosh Performa 6110 family of computers (if I rememebr well) the CPU used was PPC 601 at 66MHz.
I undestand your point of view about Macintosh usability.
Unfortunately Classic Macintoshes react very slooow due to Mac OS which was very very heavy even for PPC processors.
Mac OS is a very good and usable OS, but it seems it was created to overweight any good Motorola and then IBM processors making them looking slow and HEAVY!
Only with recent Mac OS X and very pumped processors, the mac experience became pleasant.
By the way, what Mac OS are you running?

Well.. Can I run Morph OS on my mac? If I can, Are there any localized version of Morph OS for Turkish? What are the requirements for Morph OS? Will a ppc processer ok? or?
MorphOS runs on Classic Amigas expanded with PPC CPUS expansion cards.
These Amiga Expansions are clocked at 160 or 200 MHz and usually started with configurations of 64, or 128 MB of RAM.
There is no documentation for ancient Macintoshes allowing the MorphOS team to adapt the OS to these envieronment, neither people at MorphOS team are interested to run MorphOS on these ancient machines.
Better luck with Macintoshes with PPC G3 or G4, if MorphOS team will evaluate that it could be a valuable market...
But actually project to port MorphOS on Mac PPCG3 and G4 is stopped as you read just here in this thread.
If you are about to buy some new computers you could look at Pegasos II.
Motherboard has almost same price of Mini Mac, but it is very expandable with PCI cards and can run either MorphOS and various Linux flavours, and Mac OS in emulation.
And Pegasos has talso he option to multiple boot any of these OSes.
Take a look at Vesalia for the prices:

For any information on Amiga and Amiga-Like OSes like MorphOS try any local turkish Amiga Club. They can explain better this OS to you.

Bill Gates "Think!", Steve Jobs: "Think different!" So... Let these guy continue blabbering thinking and enjoy computing! We are on Amiga!
