Ten minutes after I installed AFPL Ghostscript 8.50, I was able to view all the example images. And soon after I printed in perfect detail the classic example image tiger.ps.

Hint: Please ensure that the protection bits of all the directories and files extracted from whoosh archives are set to rwed! Otherwise you will not be able to run the program or obtain a meaningful output.
