OK, guys, I've updated the graph.

    PNG here,
    PDF here,
And imgur (if none of the above opens) here.

Hmm, i think we can add a Power Mac G5 2,3GHz to the list soon :D

I still wonder if we will see iMac G5 support with the next release. That could be another key... :D

I'll be buying a registration key for my Dual 2.7GHz G5 PowerMac by next Tuesday, or Wednesday and wonder what number I will get. We should celebrate in some way when we hit the number 3,000 later this year, or early next year.

Do you think I should display this graph at the 30th Anniversary of Amiga event in Mountain View, California on July 25th & 26th? Can you update it to extend the dates available beyond the end of June, 2015, and provide it in a format that I can enlarge to 11" high by 17" wide?

Why not? I think it's an important document of the MorphOS history and evolution, if you look at it for what it is. :-)

Have you looked at the PDF-version? A new version showing the 3.8 and 3.9 releases would be nice though... :-)

Maybe the PDF-version will do this for you?

Edit: Also, there is a compiled list of the 83 computer systems that MorphOS currently supports, that might be interesting to show (the upcoming AmigaOne X5000 being the 84th)...

    Well, there you have it...

    PNG here,
    PDF here.

Interesting to see how the line went up after 3.8 - woud that be the "SAM460 effect"?

I wonder how many MorphOS users we have. There are almost 3000 registration. I've got 2 machines and i think a lot of other users will also have 2 or 3 machines. 1000 users maybe?

Define "user". If a user is someone who uses his/her machine(s) at least regurarly then I guess we have 100. But it's just guesses. No one knows for sure.

...and a lot of users only have one license! ;-)

A few years ago, many people would guess that there were about 700 individual license owners. There has been quite a few new faces here the last two years, as well as many acknowledgements at other community sites about old Amigans picking up MorphOS. I'd say that a fair guess would fall somewhere between 1000-1500 individual license owners, and probably closer to 1500 than 1000.

I know quite a few people who got registred MorphOS because they collect everything Amiga. They don't use them much though.

As I said, it depends on what you mean by "user". If having a computer with MorphOS, registrered or unregistred. qualify as a user then we probably have 3000-4000 (removing only those who doesn't have the hardware anymore). But I think you only qualify if you actually use it, and not just turn it on every now and then to update the OS or show a friend what it looks like. IMHO.

I think the number of active + passive users may be 1000. But active users like me who use it for most things are probably close to 100 since us geeks usually have several machines. I currently have 3. And it seems about right when IRC:ing, looking at MZ and various Amiga sites.

I suppose statistics about MorphOS ISO downloads up to a month or two after a new release could give a hunch about *active* users?

Again, depending on your definition of "active" of course...

Yes, thanks for the graph update. I will try to get it printed out and displayed at the dedicated MorphOS display table at the Amiga30 computer show event at the Museum of Computer History this coming weekend.
