    Hello all,

is it possible MorpOS Team contact Kevin Taddeucci, the author of VideoClipper, to ask him it will be possible to have the source to port it on MorphOS ? maybe buy him the source.

    http://www.os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=video/edit/videoclipper.lha

I think it will be a must have on MorphOS.

How is it a "must-have". For example I have no use what so ever for it... and I think I'm not alone.

Useful tool it may be, but far from must have :)

I guess it would be nice to have it anyway. I became mad to try option every time in command-line format, figure when you are using something like this:
    Code:
mencoder -oac lavc -ovc lavc -of mpeg -mpegopts format=dvd:tsaf -vf scale=720:576,harddup -srate 48000 -af lavcresample=48000 -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg2video:vrc_buf_size=1835:vrc_maxrate=9800:vbitrate=5000:keyint=15:trell:mbd=2:precmp=2:subcmp=2:cmp=2:dia=-10:predia=-10:cbp:mv0:vqmin=1:lmin=1:dc=10:vstrict=0:acodec=ac3:abitrate=192:aspect=16/9 -ofps 25 -o Outputvideo .mpg inputvideo.wmv

in one line and you make an error... :-)
By the way, I would like first an upgrade of FFMpeg so tu use filters, ogg-vob and more.

Well this looks like it's using ReTarded-GUI (formerly known as ClassAct), so a proper port should be about as easy as porting somthing similar useing GTK or QT :-P

Mencoder is really sophisticated and has a good variety of filters. I will try to compare with ffmpeg though I guess they aren't all the same.
And I tried to encode video to theora-ogg without any success: ffmpeg doesn't have relative libs (libvorbis and libtheora) and mencoder seems to have only the vorbis codec inside:
    http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/HTML/it/menc-feat-enc-libavcodec.html#menc-feat-enc-libavcodec-video-codecs
Encoding with mencoder gives better results in my opinion.
Well... if you should find those couple of minutes one day.... :)

great to see that someone else needs the ogg-theora encoding becaus I would also and I didn't have any success neither.

Updating ffmpeg is a couple minutes job. But most of these new ffmpeg features are already available in mencoder, anyway.

Well if this would be possible it would be great!

    @ all

it would be really nice to have a GUI for "small" video editing's/encodings than like Jambalah I also must every time try the command-line options before I get a wanted result.

    Regards

I may try to put somthing together with Hollywood+MUI Royale. I think a basic GUI should be easy doable.
