    Tested the new version.

Still will not scan documents. The documents are blank in memory.

    The prescan works.

If I change the prescan option to save as pdf and click save that seems to work ok.

    New version 0.65:
Advanced options have been added: brightness, contrast, sharpening, and black/white threshold adjustments. These options are enabled if the scanner supports them. Otherwise, the sliders will remain disabled.
After launching, click "Connect" to update the settings in the preferences file, which will also enable the sliders in the Advanced tab.
As for compatibility, there are minor tweaks, but as always, I have no way to test them. On an Epson XP-322, all options work except for B&W scanning in Advanced—this will be fixed in the next version.download

edit: B&W scanning fixed. Threshold as it results from the properties of this parameter, it has been limited only to the black and white mode. Selecting the B&W mode disables the ability to save in JPEG format, which is also a result of the properties of this mode. In the next version of the program, I'll add a compression option for scanners that support it. I'm also starting to think about adding feeder support.

New version released. I added compression and cleaned up the code a bit.

I need a little clarification. When you say empty files are created, do you mean files with a size of 0 bytes, or empty (white) documents but, say, several dozen kilobytes in size?

Edit: I found something, try today's version 0.67. the link is the same

On Discord I already commented your application and compared it to the IPPScan application made by Papiosaur in native C. I bugged Papiosaur there about all the UI issues and he adapted his application quite well.

There I also pointed out some design flaws of your UI and what ideas Papiosaur should "invent" for his tool, too. So this is not personal. It is just a hint to make software look more professional and unified the looks with the entire system.

An abort button should never be part of the UI. It belongs in the menu as it is an item you rarely use. It also should use the official Aboutbox window.

The Quit button is obsolete. Only very bad application need multiple ways to escape. :) There is a close window button already, so why having a space eating additional button.

I like the image in the scan area (I assume the image turns into the scan area, as I don´t have a compatible scanner I cannot test), but the log/information list should be at the bottom with full window width. Currently it is cramped and reading is hard due to all the line breaks.

Just my 50 cents of feedback.
