Am I correct in thinking that the official XBOX 360 controller is now supported in MorphOS as a default?

The problem I am having is that when I plug in my controller to the Efika (yes I still have it for now), it states that there is no class responsible for the controller.

Yet when I open Triden and goto Devices, it is listed as such:

    Speed: Full

    State: Running

    Class: Vendor

    Bindings: xbox360.class

When I double click it, I don't get the menu I would get with my PS2 controller where I could bind the buttons to keys on the keyboard.

Could I be doing something wrong?

I don't have a XBOX360 controller, so no idea how exactly it should work...

But as far as I know, USB HID devices use the "old" lowlevel.library, and can also be bound to keyboard, mouse coordinates etc.

X360 controllers, on the other hand, use the new sensors.library approach, which is the successor of lowlevel.library. Currently there's (afaik) no lowlevel.library wrapper, so for controller to work, programs must support sensors.library directly. Currently only X360 controllers are supported by sensors.library. So if a program wants to use both standard usb hid controllers & X360 pads, it must support both lowlevel.library and sensors.library.

Of course at some point there likely will be both lowlevel.library wrapper for sensors.library and sensors.library support for other input devices.

Are there any games that support this new library that you are aware of?

"Fine" as in the limited scope of what lowlevel.library can do...

Is this just a sensible assumption or somewhere mentioned as a goal.

I am all for it but I see a tendency to drop legacy support like warp3D,
so I would not be surprised if there will be no lowlevel.library wrapper.

I do understand the wish to push the developers to support the new library and
its enhanced feature set but I would love to use some Games and Emulators that are not in development any more with my XBox 360 controller.

Of course. The goal is to replace current lowlevel.library with a wrapper to sensors.library.

Thank you for the answer. I am glad the wrapper is planned.

Just tested the PS4 pad with morphos, yes it does work! Although it did not work for me in FPSE after configuring the pad plugin, but all other games working fine!
