Don't think so with this (public) release, someone posted that they tried. Later versions maybe

No, it should run on your Peg2 though.

For future morphOS use would i be better off buying a G4 or G3 ibook or powerbook?

Which is most likely to be supported first? I'm thinking a G4 Powerbook, hope so, I've got a end of line one Leopard's nice, but I'd prefer MorphOS on a laptop :-)

Considering the performance difference, I'd go with a G4 (providing that the development team eventually supports Macs other than the Mini).
Actually, the G4 based EMac would probably be the closest (in hardware specifications) to the Mac Mini. That's the model I'd bet on as the next candidate for MorphOS.

Of course, Jim is right in saying that a G4 is always to be prefered over a G3. Second thing to consider is the GPU. Anything nVidia is of no use to MorphOS, only ATI Radeon is supported. But, anything above Radeon 9250 might be of limited use for MorphOS, i.e. no 3D (3D support for Radeon 9500 to 9800 would be needed). For now, that makes the following PowerBook and iBook devices the best ones suitable for a potential future MorphOS version:

    PowerBook: http://support.apple.com/kb/SP62
    iBook: http://support.apple.com/kb/SP68

Additional note: MorphOS' GPU restriction rules out any PowerBook G3. They have pre-Radeon (i.e. ATI Rage or even older non-ATI) GPUs.

All PowerBooks (and iBooks as well) have been EOL for years. Last PowerBook was released in October 2005 and got superseded by the MacBook Pro in January 2006. Last iBook was released in July 2005 and got superseded by the MacBook in May 2006.

    Easy bet :-)

I think the G4 PowerBook suggested below in this thread is the model I have that is not working at the moment. It was the last Titanium model before they went to the Aluminum cases and mine has the 1GHz G4 and SuperDrive. I will try to have it repaired in a hot minute as soon as MorphOS is released for it, but I was actually hoping that they would support the last G4 model with the 1.67GHz CPU clock speed and I think it was also available in the 17" widescreen LCD.

Any MorphOS laptop with decent performance will be gladly supported with a purchase by me, but with porting to a laptop, another desireable feature would be wireless support, and that as we all know will take even more work to get done.

I think it might be a good idea to be satisfied with the MacMini G4 for a while and let the team polish that port before we start asking for a port to another Mac model.

Maybe they'll do. If they do, they first would have to get support for the 3D part of the Radeon 9700 working. Else, they would have to make a 2D only release.
