I need an urgent help.

Here's what I've got.

I got MacOSX instalation already (60G) and Free space 10G. I used second version of jacadcaps manual, thus Ubuntu Live to make a partition system similar to that on the manual. Because my Free space had been made before OSX installation, my partitioning order after Ubuntu partitioning was roughly as follows (from memory):

It was 18 hours ago and only 27% of the 10G partition has been formatted since...

1) Congrats for the idea of slowing MOS down during install routines
2) Is this formatting a possible workaround of my problem?
3) If not, what should I do?

Unfortunately I do not have possible resources and time to perform full OSX backup & reinstall. I really wish to have it untouched.

Do not use Format but Quick Format instead. We probably should update the terminology there because Quick Format should be used in most cases. Regular format is just for special cases...

Firstly I tried to quickformat the 10G MOS partition. But it did nothing since as expected, the partition was not formatted at all, in fact it never been.

Then I chose Format as the only option.

I guess one can quickformat drives that are formatted only. I did everything according to jacadcaps manual. I just "swapped" the OSX MOS partitioning sequence (and thus spacing etc). Because while in OSX, my partition scheme had been like this:

[Free Space 10G]
[MacMini fs 60G]

Not the opposite, hence my previous diagram differs from original (but hopefully, does the same).

In jacadcaps manual v.2 there's an Ubuntu screenshot showing that MOS partition is unformatted (and no instruction to format it in linux, neither in MOS during installation). So I do not see anything wrong in what I did. Maybe the manual/instructions need slight tuning.

EDIT: Quickformat didn't setup MOS filetype.

But getting back to the topic - am I to wait until Tuesday or cancel the format and do something else?

I'll mention again that Full format of MOS partition wasn't mentioned in jacadcaps' instruction.

After hitting install I got some "not a dos disk / requires 128MB" error. What do I do wrong? The partition sequence? What's the proper one in my case then? I assume I can merge the existing partitions in that case...

Cancel it, quick format should be fine once you have the filesystem configured properly with HDConfig. Before clicking Install you should verify that "Install to:" points to a correctly formatted SFS partition, this should be listed in the top part of the window.

Yes, nodos indicates that the partition is not formatted.

In the partition overview there should be a button labeled "Format" next to the unformatted partition, this will allow you to (quick) format the partition.
