Pornographic resolution! That's 2.3 megapixels! I think "antialias" will be out of computer dictionaries very soon...

Of course, one has to get as close as possible to the frequency the monitor is able to "listen to" (usually 60 hz). Some accept wider margins, others are more picky. By the way, why I can't see SmartFirmware's 640 x 480 screen?

Of course, I will buy the adapter soon (mi DVI cable says its "-D", for "digital", I guess). When using digital signals, do all those analog parameters in CyberGraphX disappear?

    Which is something to celebrate!

I don't suppose you had a chance to try with another monitor? As I said in one of those threads, even ATI's own Windows driver didn't manage to output a 1600x1200 display on my monitor, so it might be some hardware incompatibility.

well the problem is that I have several of these Eizo Monitors like the CG 21 and these monitors are quite expensive, somthing around Euros 1800.00 per monitor, so I really want to be able to use them with DVI instead of changing the monitors!

The other thing is, why does the same monitor work in resolution 1600x1200 and DVI under MorphOS with the 9000pro and not with the 9200pro Graphic card? If it wouldn't work, same monitor, same driver with neither card, then I would agree with you...

I rather think that the 9200pro with 256 MB of RAM seems not completely be supported by the MorphOS driver and as soon as it gets fixed it will work with DVI also.

And it works with my radeon 7500 too, but try the combination of those cards and monitors with any other OS, the result is likely to be the same. If you should manage to find an OS/driver where this actually works, well maybe it can be fixed in MorphOS too, but please verify this first.

Dunno... according to my monitor I get a 1280x1024@75 display from OF here.

Just a further note about the ATI Radeon 9200Pro with 256 MB of RAM, when I run the "GraphicBoards" utility it shows this board with only 128 MB of RAM and not the 256 MB.

Wow... I guess your SmartFirmware is different from mine, which must be one of the oldest (I own a Pegasos I April 2).
So your SmartFirmware is able to detect the monitor, and generate different resolutions than mine? I wonder why it bothers to do so. But mostly, I wonder why my rather new monitor isn't able to show this very old standard screen mode, while another crappy monitor indeed does.

I think I saw someone write that MorphOS could not use more than 128mb of Graphics RAM, maybe a driver issue or something like that.

yes, I think the 256 MB must be the problem for now! Hopefully with the next update of MorphOS there will be an updated driver which supports the 256 MB of RAM in Graphics cards so they will be fully usable...

I've got various Radeon 9xxx cards with DVI ports on them. On my PegII I can get DVI output on some of them but the others I get nothing (not even the SF prompt). Whereas VGA output works on all of them. Is there some kind of setting on the cards or in SF that can get the DVI output working?

    Thanks,
    Rudi.

Were you talking about 2.3 update?

Anyone with 256Mb radeon can confirm that all the memory is seen?

    Thanks

I cannot confirm that, the release notes details no such change to the radeon driver, I've yet to run out of gfx mem with 128MB available here. I would still like to know if rms managed to get his radeon/eizo combo working with some other system.

    Hi,

I can confirm the following: with new MorphOS 2.3 at least already a picture is seen when using the radeon 9200pro/256 mb ram together with my eizo L997 at 1600x1200x60 resolution and DVI connection :-) though after several minutes there are so many horizontal stripes coming up, and then even no more picture at all is shown, that I had to change back to the radeon 9000/128 mb ram.

On the other hand, the Eizo at 1600x1200x60 on the mini mac with ATY, RV280 graphic chip and DVI as well as on the Casablanca S-4000 from Macrosystem also on DVI at 1600x1200x60 is working fine, there seems to be no problems.

Hopefully this can be corrected and will work as soon as possible, I would really need DIV.

    Regards

    Christoph
