    I am running Debian 4.

How du I get 3d acceleration on my Radeon 9250 card in that distribution?

I am running Xorg 7.1 and the latest availible xorg-ati driver (6.8 something), but there is still no 3d acc.

Another issue while I am here. I can only get 60hz on my monitor at present. Do I have to mess about in xorg.conf to get higher hz or is there a program like Sax in suse that can do the trick.

I am new with Debian powerpc so please be gentle :-)

Don't know about sax like programm in debian, but:

    Please, try dpkg-reconfigure <xorg>.
    Replace with xorg package name.

I'm still on debian stable an use xserver-xfree86,
but reconfiguring always worked for me.

    1. I'd recommend you instead install Ubuntu PPC "edgy" much better support and alot of things work out of the box

    2. 9250 3d should work OOTB

    3. In order to change frequences you will have to manually edit your xorg.conf

Do the latest install CDs for Kubuntu include pegasos
install support? I recently switched to Kubuntu on an
ibook and I like it :-).

    @mausle,

I do not know the link ofr kubuntu but with this one http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/edgy/release/ you can download a dvd iso of ubuntu. To perform the installation follow the instructions given by gunne here http://www.pegasos.org/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=1229 . It is preferable to use dvd iso instead of cd iso because the dvd iso contains the kernel file vmlinuz used by the script install/pegasos for booting and starting installation process. The 3 kinds of cd iso, alternate desktop and server do not have the kernel file vmlinuz because of a space problem, one iso would exceed 700 Mo limit size.

Both Kubuntu and Ubuntu are easy to install with grub script by Gunne.

    http://www.pegasos.org/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=1019

Fedora Core 6 supports pegasos also, and I find it the most efficient Linux distribution on my PegII/G3.

    dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg helped!

I now have a lot of new screen resolutions and 2D flies.

But there is still a little problem with 3D!

When I try to run a 3d game my monitor goes out of range.

Spacy since I have filled in the correct sync values.

I have loaded all the Modules in my xorg.conf. Is that correct?

I know this is not very good manners, but I have copied ind my xorg.conf file below. Is it as it should be?

    # /etc/X11/xorg.conf (xorg X Window System server configuration file)
    #
    # This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using
    # values from the debconf database.
    #
    # Edit this file with caution, and see the /etc/X11/xorg.conf manual page.
    # (Type "man /etc/X11/xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.)
    #
    # This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only*
    # if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg
    # package.
    #
    # If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated
    # again, run the following command:
    # sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg
