    Well, that is evidently a good way to sell 20 or 40 Peg2 computers, tell people they won't be made anymore.

    Well, they won't be made anymore, right?

    Also, lowering the price to $399 should have helped a great deal as well!

    (Possibly one or a few dealers bought a little batch as well, at least I hope so.)
    MorphOS is Amiga done right! :-)
    MorphOS NG will be AROS done right! :-)

    About the new products from Genesi... is going to run MorphOS in any of them? How many will cost the new boards?

    So far the MorphOS Team has not announced end-user support for any other platform besides those currently supported: Pegasos I, Pegasos II and the "PowerUp" processor cards for Commodore Amiga.

    The end-user price for the new hardware announced by Genesi is not known yet. There are evaluation boards, though, which can be ordered at Genesi's webshop (press release).

    @quadpol

    Thanks - it's been due to the broad meaning of the word "support". Thus indeed I should have been more precise and write something like "end-user board support by the OS" or similar.

    @Rarok

    The difference is the availability to end-users: for example, there is the MorphOS version for PowerUp on the one hand, which is freely available for registered PowerUp-users, although without customer support, and on the other hand also an internal MorphOS version for Efika (as a study, to demo the possibility to bring MorphOS also to this platform), which is not publically available. Currently there seem to be no plans to fine-tune and release this basic Efika port, though.

    Aargh!. This is about the third time I've found out that PegIIs are being sold again, and then have found out that they're all gone. Anyone want to sell their PegII? ODW?

    MorphOS on EFIKA? On 8641d? On a bed of nails?

    Sold out at Genesi's webshop, not necessarily at the local dealers. For example at Vesalia.de it's still listed as available.

    This may be an opportunity for me. I haven't been giving enough time to my PegII system for a while now. Just too many other priorities in my life at this time.

    If I were to follow the pattern in the Amiga community, I should sell the system parted-out, but I don't think that necessarily applies to Pegasos. A fully assembled system, complete with MOS and other alternative operating systems might be more attractive.

    Opinions welcomed.

    There are many potential buyers that we could not satisfy with the close out of the PegasosPPC. If you are interested in selling your system for an ODW price, send us an email and we will connect you to a potential buyer.

    We don't have to run "PegasosPPC looking for a good home" ads. We have a waiting list...:-)

    Hi,

    Hm, as one of my two remaining PegasosII is only used for Linux it would be tempting to replace this one with an 8641D.
    Have to check first how hard/easy it is to get one of those new machines (as I'm definitely more interested in these than in an Efika board).

    Okay, time for a humanly recognizable name for this 8641D. Bleh. Since we went with Greek for our trusty Peg, I say we give the Norse a say this time around.

    8641D == __________

    My suggestions:

    Audumla (The sacred cow, born of friggin' rocks, yeah!)
    Huginn (Odin's crow, "Thought")
    Munin (Odin's crow, "Memory")
    Sleipnir (That awe-inspiring 8-legged horse of Odin)

    (we could always use any of the Norse personalities too, but I'm partial to the mythic beasts rather than dieties.)

    If I can suggest one character from the asturian mithology, I would go for "Nuberu". An old man, that rules the enviroment, and decides the weather.

    Nuberu Rules.

    It came from the celtic heritage, and its not easily missunderstandable with anyother english word.

    Nuberu Roolz! xD
