    Hi Mag,

prolly everyone's holding out for a G4 (?) If I were in a position to I'd get it (and if you havn't sold it in 3 months time I will be ;-)).

I made my decision about what I'm gonna get next ... gotta sell a car, buy a car, get a loan, and then get the new computer.

BTW How many posts on here 'till I can bung on my own Avatar, then?

Have You advertised on other sites? Maybe most of the people on
morphzone already have a Peg or already want a G4's?
have you tried putting the system on Amibench or elswhere?

    Just my suggestions,

I would post it on amibench and on comp.sys.amiga.marketplace as well. I think most of us here have one or those that want one would rather have a G4 system.

I think most ppl buying such a freak system like Pegasos want to build it themselves ;)

I know a lot of the pegasos users are very comfortable with hardware and building systems but this is not always the case. Certain customers are willing to get pre-configured systems especially if there is some added value like magnetic's unique case.

Also I know that "g5" is on everyone's breath now and the g3 seems outdated... but from my experience with these g3 systems they can be very useful for certain applications where a fanless cpu would be desirable: firewalls, set-top boxes, embedded applications...

heck they make great computers for aspiring programmers. I met a man a few weeks ago who was writing programs in BASIC (yes as in 10 HOME 20 PRINT "HELLO WORLD") with pen and paper because he had no computer to practice on. It really blew my mind to see that kind of dedication.

Anyway magnetic, I would also suggest trying other avenues, you let the morphzone guys get first dibs now you can go freely to other markets :)

Thanks for the observations. This particular system is very highly configured and most average users could not duplicate it imo. Thats what makes it special.

Also, the Pegasos is pretty exotic hardware and to get it working properly with a case and ram and install Morphos and its components, as well as configure Linux nicely is alot of work. (as you know)

Buying a system from a reputable dealer ready to go out of the box is a big sell to me!

Well it seems the fact this hasn't sold yet echoes my worries about demand for these systems ... well and confirmation of poor health of the 'market.'

Configuring a system, installing software especially is many days of work to get everything working nicely.

Only comments I've received so far are "If it's not a G4...not interested." From people coming from 25MHz CPUs that's quite amusing......but once you buy a new machine, I assume people automatically compare the price point to a more recent x86.

Good observations. Well demand IS there on an industrial level, which is whats important. Also, most ppl here have a pegasos already. I'm sure they have some Amigan friends that want one!

If you are comparing price points with x86 garbage (which most ppl do) its not a comparison for me. For several reasons:

    1. You cant run MorphOS on x86!

    2. You cant run OSX on x86!

    3. x86 usually = Windoze and we now how that is

    4. PPC is the Future

    5. You can run mulitple operating systems on Pegasos easily

    6. Pegasos is COOL Computing!

    7. PCs are junk

    8. This pegasos is very small footprint and virtually SILENT and FANLESS!

    ;-)

It might be true, but it's also Troll fodder ... <Tinky-Winky> Eh-Oh! </Tinky-Winky>

TBH my preference will be to get a new G4 and build it myself, but I'm not dumb enough to spend the extra when I don't have to ;-)

    @Magnetic

Man, your deal is to great to be true! I've got a peg1 and am planning to switch it for a peg2 as soon as I can...but atm I'm (way) short on money. Seeing your advertisment almost led me to selling my grandmother with all the rest of the furniture! I mean, every single bit of hardware pre-installed...and the software setup is even more impressive! For someone who's been messing around for ages to get a decent Linux setup (let alone a working MOL config!), this is seeing heaven, but knowing that it's not my time yet. I'm stopping now, because otherwise i'm not sure granny will be here tomorrow!

But seriously, this is a steal at this price; anyone reading this with a peg1, winblows, amiga, mac, whatever with more money than I have: buy it!

I've got to lie down now, thinking happy thoughts :-D
