Yeah riser cards could be an option as well, though I have never seen one for AGP yet (wonder if the lines will not become too long, might get interference if done incorrectly as well with these high data pulse speeds). I think however that it will just fit without a riser card. By the way a funny detail, the zorro riser card of the A3000 is about the height of a full height PCI or AGP card.
I'm certain a G4 will not be fast enough for my needs, though the OS (MOS) is blazingly fast, computationally intensive tasks (compiling very large programs and running these very demanding apps) are still processor limited
A PPC970 would be in the same league as what I use now on linux at work (AthlonFX53, i.e. the fastest single processor system available).
