I propose we create a list with the appropriate software vendors... Something like the following:

    Drive List:
Manufacturer, Model, CD Read, DVD Read

On that page, we should either duplicate or link to the software vendors for CD/DVD writers. Also, it should include a list of DVD drives supported by MPlayer and FroggerNG.

Here is a working DVD-RW Drive.

NEC ND-2500A 8xDVDR+/- means DVD and CD read okay.

Burn function will prove if burnit relased.

Meanwhile, why don't you try it with dvdrtools?

    from dvdrtools home page:

"Thanks to the old dos.library AmigaOS is limitated to a maximum file size of 2 GB. This means that you can use readcd only for reading DVD`s with a maximum capacity of a bit less than 2 GB"

Does this apply to Morphos? I guess we don't have any "old library" ...

BTW, is there any PPC port of the code?

I tried to burn a CD with dvdrtools, and after writing the track it says "writing" some negative number of *something* "data". I coudn't copy-paste the message because it just froze! The system hung up.... :-(

Is gonna happen the same when recording DVDs? Anyone has any idea of what kind of problem is that?

    Thanks!

AFAIK the old dos.library has been reimplemented in MorphOS - I think because of compatibility reasons.

Even if I am not right with my guesses I mentioned above, this sucking 2 GB limit is in MorphOS, too.

When using dvdrecord from shell, did you set the stack high enough?

When setting the stack to 500.000 or above all the dvdrtools proggies work fine here on my Peg1 G3/600 with MOS 1.4.2

BTW: AFAIK there is currently no PPC version of the dvdrtools. I did not install the MOS version of gcc yet, but maybe I will do that in the near future and recompile dvdrtools for MOS. I do not think that a PPC version of dvdrtools is really necessary because the 68k version is quite fast on MOS.

mmm I set the stack to 500.000 as I read in dvdrtools page.... Maybe I should try upgrading Morphos to 1.4.2. I stucked with 1.4.1 + poseidon update, since I couldn't find where I put my access information to the download area in pegasos. Is it in the developer's area?
