I think modt of you already heard about the latest efford to bring on new ppc hardware: The Mirari board.
Board-designer is the community known guy called „Geennaam“ who has kind of a good and proven track record.

Well if and when it arrives - will MorphOS support it quicker than OS4…?

And how will it perform in comparison with current supported hardware. If it will be quicker than my current most powerful system (iMac G5) and price tag will not be insane, I could be actually interested. But probably rather in a T2081 version.

Of course I would still prefer a x64 MorphOS, but I’ll take whatever will be available as long as it is a significant update to current solutions.

    Your thoughts or comments…?

It surely sounds interesting. I would like an affordable new solution that wouldn't be too power hungry and clumsy heater even if it wouldn't be faster than G5 systems.. if it'd just be faster than Mac minis and fit in a smallish case :)

E6500 looks interested with Altivec 2.0 support. With accelerated video decoding this could be a very nice MorphOS setup. With a price tag at <1000 Euro i would consider buying one.

Hmmm, I thought it didn't have Altivec. If that is the case, would be a great box for MorphOS.

I definitely will be buying one, when MorphOS is available for it.

The higher end CPU option appears to have Altivec per their description.

    -T10x2 (2-4 e5500 cores) up to 1.5GHz / T2081 (4 dual-threaded e6500 cores with Altivec 2.0) up to 1.8GHz

Definitely keeping an eye on this one. Obviously it needs software support, but looks interesting for sure.
