    Hello,

I have an issue with m'y New HP m209dw.
I have find the right ppd driver on openprinting (i have checked on linux that it IS the right one)
The ppd is in the ../data/printers/ppd directory.
The netprinter is configured with the IP adress of the printer. I can ping the IP, so network communication IS ok. Netpar IS in the right directory also.
I add the profile and after the printer.
I have just the message that the ppd need a cups filter but if i am not wrong we don't need this filter ?
Non error when i try to print with vpdf but no page generated by the printer.
    Any Idea ?
    Thanks

If the printer doesn't speak PostScript, it does need a driver ('cups filter') to translate the native printer language to PostScript. According to the official specs (also quoted there, #23), it speaks PCLmS, URF and PWG, neither of which MorphOS has a driver for.

See there for a list of non-PS printer languages a MorphOS driver currently exists for:

The HP Laserjet M209dw is practically a "GDI" Printer. Not a "Postscript" or "PCL" printer.
    (see: https://www.druckerchannel.de/techinfo.php?m[]=5681)

The languages it speaks are probably only supported by the manufacturer's drivers as usual
with GDI Printers. So it will probably not print with MorphOS unfortunately.
What we need are printers which speak Postscript or PCL mainly. Some EPSON ESC/PR and Samsung CLPs could work too.
Look here for details : https://library.morph.zone/Print_System
There are some brother "PPD" drivers too, as I read in a previous post.

This could be helpful as well :

    regards .... :-)
