It's possibly a fan sticking on power-up and allowing something to overheat. Ironically, warming the system might just warm the fan grease and get it moving again.

Failing that then I'd go with jaca with PSU as likely culprit.

Don't even bother trying to test the caps on the Peg. It's not an A1200; many of them are SMD.
