    @ Andreas,

I'm just happy that the quoted prices remained close to what had been previously mentioned.
Red can negotiate for a package without the software.

Fortunately, the MorphOS team doesn't need anyone's allowance.

    You just noticed that one?
    Weird huh?
Considering Wiktor has a system running it, I'm baffled.

And as of last night, we can all buy one.

So what would prevent it is completely beyond me.

Hmm... If there is truth to that statement then the MorphOS Team should issue a statement quickly, so people like Jim aren't suckered into buying an X5000 or Cyrus board early which will not see a MorphOS release.

Actually, Genesi stopped selling them in 2006.

Why should AmigaKit have anything against MorphOS on the X5000/Cyrus? And why should the MorphOS team care about what Hyperion wants, especially when Trevor endorses MorphOS on his hardware?

I purchased the first system I ran MorphOS on, an QuickSilver PowerMac, months before support was introduced for it.
I purchased my first G5 under similar conditions.
MorphOS support for the X5000 has been announced.
When have our developers EVER promised something they didn't deliver?

I'm not anticipating multicore support for MorphOS on PPC. That's an odd question, why do you bring it up? Are you suggesting the MorphOS Team is working on SMP for PPC?

    Its never been mentioned.
The best we can probably hope for is something that uses high memory (above 2GB) or some kind of ASMP.

Because there are people who have been saying OS4 doesn't fully support the X1000/Nemo as long as the 2nd CPU core is unused.

Well I wouldn't say that, except maybe to point out the false advertising my certain people connected with HYPErion. I'm firmly in the camp who believes the competent developers (AKA MorphOS team) who state this is impossible without breaking backwards compatibility.

Speaking of Hermans, how many years has it been since he proclaimed in the forums it was not only possibly to implement SMP in OS4, but it wouldn't take a year? Has it been 6-7 years? I'm sure you have it bookmarked :-D

I'm not sure they said it was impossible.
Rather that it wouldn't work in the same box.
But that does not preclude wrapping Abox with an even more powerful system.

However...that isn't happening (and to the best of my knowledge what they are considering for OS4 won't be anywhere near that ambitious).
What our developers are planning is stepping away from complete legacy compatibility (to a new ISA) in order to actually implement the things the other camp has been promising without the issues they will have to face.

It was 5 years ago that he said it wouldn't take 2 years.

I remember when I moved to a town in the South Wales valleys as a kid. There was a mentally impaired guy that always wore a Liverpool FC shirt, scarf and bobble hat. Some of the local kids had worked out that if they shouted Man United once, he'd go on a long rant about how shit Man United were.

4th in the premier league may be up-playing OS4 a little but if that's how you see it, which operating systems do you feel equate to Man City, Tottenham and Arsenal?
