    If you go for an R5xx-based Radeon X1xxx series card, OS4 can be used in 2D and MorphOS in 2D+3D. That's the best compromise you can get.

    Looks like the Radeon X1950 Pro might be a good compromise between the two OS's

    Repair/refurbished units, no doubt.

    The first batch (sold out) or the new larger one?

    @Jim

    No, brand new (but it was not a batch of thousands, neither a batch of hundreds, maybe less than 20 IMHO).
    PowerMac G5 2,7 Ghz / Radeon 9650 / MorphOS 3.15
    AmigaOne X1000 (unused ATM)

    I ordered one (currently in Italy's custom collecting dust). Once get one will see if it were repaired/refurbished or new ones.

    @K-L: Yes, maybe 10-20 in the sold out batch. And due to the surprisingly large interest, maybe 50-100 in the next batch. Pure speculation of course.

    Got my one, and it looks like repaired one, while can be is not. See:

    Max explained that it some last-minute manual modification to allow the boards to work on modern ATX power supplies. Basically, what happens? the 'cr' board have fewer onboard components than the 'ex' version, and its power consumption is very very low, and some/many PSU basically don't sense any load and: or they don't start at all or they give not stable output, which in turn create stability issues.
    The two resistors you see are there for increasing the power load, they are not there for 'repair'.
    The next batch will have this (and other minimal modifications) directly onboard.

    If the power consumption is that low, why use a ATX power supply at all? USB and standard small laptop-style power bricks are more in line with the system needs.

    ...until you connect a graphics board.
