    Any comments, test or advice welcome ;-)

    I have to choose an universal DVDwriter (about 125 euros for Nec, Pioneer and LiteOn models and 150 euros for Teac model) for my Pegasos between :

    * NEC ND-1300
    * PIONEER DVR-106
    * LITE-ON LDW-411S
    * TEAC DV-W50D

    I presume i should use BurnIT or Dvdrtools as MakeCD doesn't support yet DVD burning ? Thanks in advance for your answer, comments...

    Based on the drive in my iMac, and I could play DVD made with iDVD play with mplayer .90 an .91

    And don't let you make your self mad by others who say that the + standard is better. That is only for PC DVD drive for consumer drive (home cinema sets and low priced DVD players) the - standard are absolute better. Based on my own and friends experience (5).

    I got a NEC 1300 DVD/CD(+/-/R/RW) It is for me the most valuable DVD writer for me wich i want to use in my peggy if the Burn-it program has com out which i seen in Rotterdam.

    NEC 1300 has burned everything. All types of DVD i have tested and no problems. And all Kind of CD with no Problem. (to test i used nero and a PC).

    Hello bigdan :)

    I recommend you the PIONEER DVR-106.

    That's what I've and it works fine with the Pegasos with MakeCD (for CD burning) and I'm sure it'll work fine woth BurnIT for DVD burning when this program become available.

    Bye

    I'd go with the Pioneer drive as well. I think they started the whole desktop DVD burning tech.

    @ Frodon does this drive play encoded (commercial) DVD with Mplayer in MOS?
