    Hi, finally now that I've been able to make MOS boot everytime it turn out that randon lockups occur. Once it boots, it happens that even while the system is idle (I'm not doing anything in it) MOS just freezes.. this happens at variable time, sometimes it happens almost immediately, other it takes a few minutes before freezing..

    My setup: Amiga 1200T with BlizzardPPC 603e+ and 256 MB RAM. BVsion and MOS running on SCSI HD connected tothe boards' controller.

    i can provide any details or more information if required.

    thanks!

    and what You mean, it freezes? when i had incompatible dimm modules in my peg2, it sometimes happen, that the trance took 100% of cpu... and after some time, it was okay again... stopped to happen, when i removed second dimm module. but as You have blizzard, it's probably another problem with trance? execute the system monitor, and watch, when it will freezee, if it's the trance, or something else... if possible, ofcourse.. then you can solve other stuff...

    bye, MarK.

    There is one case like yours in a thread over here somewhere. It was about a guy who had an Amiga 1200 that worked flawlessly with AmigaOS 3.9, but failed with MorphOS PowerUP.
    It has to be software, because hardware is same. No! It turned out that a weak power suply was to blame.
    It didn't matter with AmigaOS 3.9, as it uses less resources, namely the PowerPC CPU in the PowerUP card. But MorphOS stressed more the system, which demanded more power, which results in a voltage drop. This always has amusing effects in computers.
    Yes, you can use MorphOS to make test benches for power supplies. :-)

    Well, it just locks up. Even the titlebar clock stops... really don't know why, because m systems runs OK with OS3.9 and.. ahem, OS 4... I'll try to see if there a system process eating all the CPU randonmly, but i really doubt it, because when this happens I can not even move the mouse pointer anymore.

    thanks,

    @JCMarcos

    Thanks for the tip but.. well, I have my 1200 mounted in a power tower and I'm using a 400 WATT ATX Powersupply... eventhough my A1200 is fully loaded, I'll try to disconnect some stuff to test... I even have the PSU connected to the mobo via the floppy power connector!

    Thanks!

    I had the exact same problem with my A1200T.
    I never solved it before my BPPC went down but I was 99% sure that it
    was heat problems.

    I had a 040/25 (which produces a lot of heat) and a BVision.
    The BVision also got VERY warm. Try and cool down the memory on the
    BVision. It might help. I could easly cook dinner on that BVision when
    using MorphOS :)

    For me, my card never worked in 3.9 as it should but under MorphOS it
    worked just fine. For 5min up to an hour :)
    Then it freezed.

    well, under the peg2, also everything freezed, but after a minute or sth like that, it was okay... for, say, few minutes...

    bye, MarK.

    IIRC I heard something that the floppy power connector is not always sufficient to pass through enough amperes and it is suggested to add a second paralell power input at some other place.
    But beware of loops and short circuits , it's easy to fry up your board.

    Well, since you run OS4 too, you can give a definite answer on if the problem is hardware or software related. Does OS4 run stable?

    In my case the problem was with no properly SFS version. Read about it also on link below.

    Then try to your all HD partisions SFS original releases from Hendrikx (version 1.84). Maybe it helps...
