Which in context of MorphOS is probably pointless...

Btw, there are conflicting information on the web whether the first iBook G4 generation used the 7455 (see Wikipedia) or the 7457 (see everymac.com).

Yes, absolutely, but taking the core number into account was the only possibility to have the Wii U end up with more CPU power than the Mac mini G4 ;-)

I can't believe you guys are still lobbing this one back and forth.

The PS3 doesn't have enough memory and the video (Nvidia based) won't work.
    Why rehash this idea?

I guess that's why the latest posts centered on the Wii U which has 8 times the RAM and Radeon R600/R700 graphics :-)

I looked at Wii U and it looks very neat and maybe works passively, almost perfect replacement for the Mac mini, but is this console well documented? I read that Xbox 360 is a tragedy when it comes to Linux, there is no audio driver etc.

It's enough for Linux to run, apparently. Not sure how complete the support is, though.

Specs look good enough (Wii U).
Of course, the fact that it Nintendo stopped shipping them three years ago makes it a harder buy (although they are more recent than PowerMacs).

Nice compact system, not a bad idea.

Yes, but currently it's still easily available new. I can find it starting at 400 EUR.

That sounds about right. I've seen them going for as high as $699.

Used Wii U prices now regularly go for under $150. It makes me wonder what using MorphOS would be like on such a system as this one.

    @Andreas_Wolf
Oops. The hardest part was hacking the boot loader.
I suppose CGX should be possible, there's already HD 2000/4000 support.
Not to mention the team's hardware is already there.

    It just won't happen ...

    While articles like

    Wii U Architecture

from Rodrigo Copetti give an entertaining insight into what Nintendo did to get things going and how security got defeated, neither I nor anyone else in MorphOS Team I know of feels thrilled to port MorphOS to this platform.

The article is a fun read, though, for anyone who didn't came across it yet.

You really should left out "just" and added "case closed".
