In the tech specs over at pegasosppc.com it says you can use an optional PCI riser card. Can I just get one of the many I see that has three slots and a ribbon cable that has a PCI card edge on it to connect to the Pegasos II? I see several in the $70US price range. I'd like to add a few more slots to my system if I could.

    Hi

Someone have to be first to try out.

So you have som many PCI-cards, more then three, you want to use in your Pegasos ?

Some cases (U2 rackcases) are also delivered with a PCI V-card, for possibility to mount the PCI cards in parallell with the motherboard.

Yes, this is the type of PCI riser I am talking about. I have a SB Live, TrendNet 8139 Ethernet, and a TV card I plan to put in now. Thats all the slots used up. Since i have been reading the onboard Ethernet doesnt work to well yet, but the 8139 based cards do, I dont want to give that up. The Sound blaster is much better then the VIA onboard sound, and the TV card, well its just fun.

Maybe you better ask bplan directly if you actually can use more than three PCI cards in the Pegasos before spending money.

    Hi
I have built pegs into 2u rackcases. So here are some notes:

DO NOT get the pci riser with the ribbon cable imo.. Get the one that has no cable but has an extension that plugs into the extra slot on the 1st pci connection on the peg. This is best solution imo. $70 is expensive and you can probably get it cheaper.
Also, afaik it doesnt add more slots - just changes the orientation.. but i could be wrong
