The screen flickers when I move around left and right.

    [edit] Not much, but noticable.

What hardware is this? I played through the whole game, but I didn't see any flickering.

G5 2,7 GHz with radeon 9600XT 128 MB VRAM. Sometimes you see that there is a "jack" in the screen where the upper and the lower part isn't align as they should. It's only for a brief second so it's not that bad. And I've also seen graphical errors where some things are a grey mass.

But the game works like a charm so the errors are visible because everything else works fine :) Great work!

Oh, you mean screen tearing? You are right about that, the graphics are not vsync-ed, which is strange because double buffered screens are supposed to have vsync turned on by default.

Yes, that's the word! Is that a MOS thing or is it the same with other OS:es?

It's not a MorphOS thing. As I said in my previous post this is the exact opposite of the default behavior. You can't even control this from PowerSDL, since the GL contexts created by it are always double buffered, so the fullscreen ones should be vsynced too. Perhaps itix could tell why it isn't working.

I've finished the game, great work Bszili. But why on some locations (especially in the castle) framerate drops so badly? (Mac Mini 1,5 GHz).

To be honest I haven't looked much into it. I finished the game on a Pegasos II, and the framerate stayed in the playable range. Generally there are a few effects which eat up a lot of CPU time, like the particles.

The trouble that Yasu describes (or at least to a degree) is present also to the Win7/PC combo, under a Greek locale system. Many times, dialogs' sentences appear to have incomprehensible characters nextn to English letters/words, making it impossible to understand what's your next task sometimes. Thankfully, the game worked fine under MorphOS with fluent English dialogs.

    @koszer

Indeed on the castle there is a noticeable framerate drop, especially when you face big enemies or they are plenty of them on the screen. The game remains in playable levels but it is still noticeable even under a 1,6GHz G4.

I will check when I get there on my G5. Maybe it's a pure process power problem.

I'm sorry but what do you expect it to be? I didn't put anything in to intentionally slow down the later stages.

I think all OpenGL screens should automatically be multi-buffered. Of course there can still be tearing, if buffer is swapped mid-frame.

TGLSYNC should be enabled by default, but can be done manually with setenv TGLSYNC 1 (0 disables it, and will draw frames as fast as it can)

Now onto the next project (great work on Frogatto!) :-D :

Is it possible? Considering that there is an AOS 4 version I bet it is!

I downloaded the game today from the MorphOS Files site today and tried to run it, but I'm getting the following error message in the consoloe window:

    Frogatto engine version 1.3

    LOOKING IN 'modules/frogatto/module.cfg': 0
    LOOKING IN '.frogatto/dlc/frogatto/module.cfg': 0
    FAILED TO LOAD MODULE: frogatto

I'm using a Mac Mini G4 1.5GHz. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Have you also downloaded and installed the required game data that is linked to in the very first posting of this thread?

I downloaded and unzipped all files in https://github.com/frogatto/frogatto/archive/1.3.1.zip. The game and these files are in my Games: directory.

I haven't figured out yet how to install the data though.

Install? You just have to extract them into the same directory.

I'm sorry to bring this up, but I'm still gtting the following error messageLFrogatto engine version 1.3

    I'm using a Mac Mini G4 1.5GHz. .

I have extracted all the content of the Frogatto-1.3.1.zip file and moved it to the same folder containing the executable frogatto. I also tried just copting the data folder on;y in the folder, leaving everything else out.

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

How about using the error message to make sure you have the files, where the game wants them to be?

I found this path: LOOKING IN 'modules/frogatto/module.cfg': 0, and it is where it's supposed to be.

But I can't find this path:
    LOOKING IN '.frogatto/dlc/frogatto/module.cfg': 0

Without seeing your directory structure the only thing I can do is take your word for it. Just because the game can load it from two places, there's no need for having two copies of the game data.

    @Papirosaur
If you do that make sure to purge non-frogatto directories from "modules".

yes, if you could, I{d very much appreciate your uploading the game there.
